To ask how to heat baby food?!

I am aware this makes me sound very dim, but I really don't understand!

Ella's kitchen pouches- says can be warmed by standing in warm water. Fine for just veg ones, but what about the chicken casserole one? Surely that needs blasting to within an inch of its life? Standing in boiling water will only warm and so isn't this a risk because of the chicken?

Homemade purée- same issue! Ones containing meat, can they just be warmed slightly by standing in warm water like I do with veg ones?

I would think the pouches have been heat treated to make them safe (I don't even heat them). But homemade, having been made in a non-sterile environment will need heating to piping hot, so microwave with a really good stir or pop in a sauce pan and boil.

I used to take them out of the pouches and simmer them on the stove

Talking about home made pouches. Not sure about Ellas

Thank you!

I don't heat them if they are straight from the cupboard but I put half the pouch in the fridge for the next day and so it needs warming.

I popped them unopened in a cup of boiling water and they came out properly hot. Home made I simmered
