To not find the Bethany grooming storyline realistic?

I guess because she has a concerned family worried about her?

I can't help but think a girl who was the victim of grooming would be more likely to be very isolated.

I'm not sure if it was this storyline or the bullying/diet pills/Gary storyline but they said at the time they'd hired an actress older than the character due to her storylines. I'd imagine they had this planned when she was hired though.

They probably have to pay more for accents Grin

I remember someone posting here a couple of years ago. Her DD had been groomed and she had fought so hard to get support from the local services. Including police and SS.
I was a sex worker back in the day. I can remember a girl of 17 coming to a flat I was working in looking for work. It was her 'Boyfriends' idea that she should sex work. Needless to say she was sent away. But yeah. I've known a fair number of working girls started out by their 'DP' before they were old enough to know what they were getting into.
Not all of them were neglected kids from dysfunctional homes.

The character being 16 was what I meant, I remember when Sarah Louise was pregnant and Gail being all wobbly chinned and going "But but but she hasn't even had sex!!" and Sarah Louise just trying to disappear slowly into her chair Grin

What surprises me is that, given that Sarah Lou herself was a victim of online grooming (when the internet was in it's infancy and MSN chat rooms were rife), that the family aren't a little hotter on the subject!

I must admit I was a bit Hmm at the bad acting for the first few months of thjs, but the scenes last week where she went for a drink with the "friend" and then back for the "party" were really well done.

I must admit, I only remember Sarah being groomed because my mum made me watch it, to "warn me of the dangers".

I remember she went to his house expecting to meet a young lad and instead it was a large, middle aged man (Who told her he was his dad).

It was raised by his'gang' that she had family contract still insinuating that they normally go for girls who won't be missed.
