DH and I were amazed and delighted to find out yesterday that I'm pregnant (v early, I tested the day after my missed period but have done two clearblue tests!) I'm 4 weeks 5 days today. However, I am pretty scared because I got pregnant in November, spent the whole of December thinking I was still pregnant but found out in jan I had had a MMC at 6 weeks and had to have an ERPC. If anyone has any positive stories or words of comfort I would really appreciate it Smile

Awww it's totally understandable Polly. I was terrible when I found out I was pregnant after my mc. It was in between dd1 and dd2, who is sitting across the room from me, aged 12.
Good luck and try to relax. Congrats x

I was devastated by my mmc and really anxious when I became pregnant second cycle after it ended. Honestly, was fairly anxious and disbelieving throughout the pregnancy, but now trapped on the sofa with my beautiful sleeping 8 month old dozing away and very happy indeed.Smile

Congratulations!
I had 4 mc's after DD. But currently have a 6 week old DS asleep on my shoulder Smile
You can't stop feeling anxious. But with each scan, midwife appointment etc it does subside a little. Like passing milestones.
To be honest as long as you are sensible take your folic acid etc not much more you can do. My trust didn't do early scans unless you had at least 3 mc's but the relief seeing a heartbeat at mine was huge. It's worth paying for one privately if your trust don't offer. (They tend not to unless you have had multiple mc's as unfortunately early mc's are quite common)
Congratulations again

I had a mmc of one twin and eventually went on to lose the other in my second trimester with a horrible haemorrhage which almost took me too. 8 months later I just knew 9 days before my period was due I was pregnant and I was. I had a couple of bleeds and was put on 75mg of aspirin and she is now 2 and snoring on my knee. I won't pretend I wasn't really anxious but the hospital were great and I was very closely monitored.

Congratulations xx

I had a MMC at 6 weeks too. Didn't find out until I was 10 weeks pregnant and had to have medical management. Got pregnant again within 2 months and am currently sat at 38 weeks feeling the little miss wiggle around in my tummy.

Pregnancy after miscarriage is so hard, and I really struggled with it. I found it really hard to think positively and was always waiting for it to go wrong. I still am to a certain extent. Just take one day at a time and try to remember that you are much more likely to have a healthy pregnancy than a miscarriage even if you've had one before. That helped me through the difficult days x

Congrats OP!

I was freaking out on the verge of my 12w scan this month as I had a mmc at 11w back in August last year.

After six months of dealing with stupid OPKs I conceived and am now 14w pregnant.

Congratulations!!! I have numerous friends and relatives who had a mc or mmc and all went on to have healthy babies.

It must be stressful - it can be bad enough when you haven't had a mc - but all you can do for now is spoil yourself with nice treats like manicures to make up for the lack of champagne and hold on for that first scan. Lots and lots of luck Smile Brew Cake

First trimester miscarriages are all to do with the foetus not forming correctly so nothing you can do to prevent one. I kmow very few mothers who haven't had at keadt one miscarriage so hard as it us try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy

Congratulations Flowers

My second pregnancy baby is now 6 months old and giving me the run around (early crawler...).

I went through a wide range of emotions when pregnant after having had a missed miscarriage, partly because there wasn't a lot of time between the pregnancies. There was fear of something going wrong and also guilt, as if I was betraying the first baby, and then feeling guilty again because it was like I was being awful to the second baby by feeling guilty about the first. I'm aware that none of this makes a lot of sense.

I guess what I'm saying is despite me being a loon throughout, we've now got a very happy DS bouncing around. Take good care of yourself and hope it all goes well for you.

It's v v normal to feel anxious. I think it would be strange if you weren't a bit anxious.

I had a miscarriage, followed by a DD who is now 18 months. My NHS trust offered me an early reassurance scan. I also had some counselling from a local charity offering free miscarriage counselling.

If it makes you feel better, the NHS can be clinical too - most staff were v supportive throughout the actual physical process of having a miscarriage, but one wasn't at all. And they don't really offer anything to help you deal with the emotional aftermath. Not sure what I would have done without the charity whose counselling was free/donation based.
