Very Sorry, I'm sure it's been asked but I literally don't have the time to look through the threads!

If labour get into power, will they have the power to stop Brexit?
I thought that now May had triggered article 50 that nothing could stop it?

OP posts:
Orlantina · 21/04/2017 09:49

It means I don't believe a word they say about other stuff either

This. And have you seen how ANGRY Theresa May gets during PMQs when challenged on this stuff. No wonder she doesn't want a TV debate.

VIkingVolva · 21/04/2017 09:56

I don't think she sounds angry.

Everyone raises their voices in the House during heckling, and it's mildly annoying that an emotional state is attributed to a woman doing this, when men are not labelled.

Two4One2017 · 21/04/2017 10:03

Corbyn is so ineffectual at PMQs:

www.express.co.uk/news/politics/779472/Theresa-May-destroys-Jeremy-Corbyn-shambles-PMQs-performance

.....and people are seriously thinking about voting for him.....and leading our negotiations with 27 other countries that are out to punish us ?

Orlantina · 21/04/2017 10:05

I don't think she sounds angry

Not her voice. Her face. Her death stares. Her angry face.

Corbyn is so ineffectual at PMQs

Actually Corbyn asked 6 questions - he asked 2, then asked 4 later. But don't let that stop your bias.

And Theresa May just lies.

Orlantina · 21/04/2017 10:06

Oh - and Corbyn asked questions about Brexit at the Brexit debate afterwards.

I watch PMQs. And I watched the debate afterwards.

VikingVolva · 21/04/2017 10:10

If he's only asked 6 questions at (weekly) PMQs since he became leader of the opposition, then he's absolutely bloody awful!

It's not just one PMQ session that leads to an opinion being formed.

Lying to the House has pretty serious consequences. If you have evidence of lies (as opposed to 'something that I violently disagree with') then email the Speaker.

VIkingVolva · 21/04/2017 10:12

"Not her voice. Her face. Her death stares. Her angry face."

All subjective words of misogynists.

Men are not criticised for standing up to hecklers.

Two4One2017 · 21/04/2017 10:13

Let me try again. You notice these are from left wing publications...I'm not trying to be biased - I'm just pasting links....they lead me to the conclusion that Corbyn is a very weak and ineffective leader.

SuckItUpSnowflake · 21/04/2017 10:19

Corbyn is pretty good at PMQs, especially recently. May repeats empty statements and laughs a lot.... a lot. While he's mature and actually on the side of getting points out like he cares not like he's in a performing circus. But of course he's ineffectual if the Tories just laugh instead of fucking answering the questions.

Theresa May the Trump hand holder is going to be more effective is she? Theresa May the completely ignored by Euro leaders because Britain is irrelevant now going to be more effective?

By effective you mean she'll cosy up to countries like Saudi Arabia which Corbyn wouldn't. Well my form of patriotism wouldn't like to see the UK turn into a shit hole tax haven to service the needs of the global elite.

TheNaze73 · 21/04/2017 10:48

Corbyn can say what he wants. Barry Chuckle has more chance of becoming prime minister.

Devorak · 21/04/2017 11:09

@VIkingVolva

All subjective words of misogynists.

You know it's possible to disagree with a woman and not be a misogynist. Over-use detracts from the meaning of the word. "Death stares" and "angry face" are not sexist terms.

"Men are not criticised for standing up to hecklers."

Yes they are. Remember when Cameron told Eagle to "calm down"?

@SuckitUpSnowflake

"Theresa May the Trump hand holder is going to be more effective is she?"

Yes. You may not like the fact that Trump is a powerful man but he is and she needed to stay on his right side for the best outcome for our country. Corbyn would have been laughed out of the White House.

"of course he's ineffectual if the Tories just laugh"

Even Miliband was at least effectual in parliament when leading the opposition. Corbyn is laughable and hard to take seriously.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 21/04/2017 11:24

Let me try again. You notice these are from left wing publications...I'm not trying to be biased - I'm just pasting links....they lead me to the conclusion that Corbyn is a very weak and ineffective leader.

In balance to the drivel this pp is spouting I offer this Grin

anotherangryvoice.blogspot.co.uk/

Heavily left bias unlike the heavily neo liberal and 'faux' left bias that the pp suggested

VikingVolva · 21/04/2017 11:43

"Yes they are. Remember when Cameron told Eagle to "calm down"?!"

Of course. And that was a criticism of his words, which happens to everyone, not an inference about his perceived emotional state (such as anger) which is something that is applied to women, not men.

And was also a criticism of misogyny because he was commenting on his perception of her emotional state, not what she was saying.

Devorak · 21/04/2017 11:58

@VikingVolva

You're saying that men don't have their perceived emotional estate inferred? Are you a troll?

site:mumsnet.com "angry man"

Quick google result shows that you're wrong. Hundreds of posts about angry men on MN alone.

makeourfuture · 21/04/2017 12:01

All May is doing is lying through her teeth.

I've never heard her actually answer the questions.

Orlantina · 21/04/2017 18:16

viking

Don't get me wrong. Male MPs and PMs get angry as well - and I have no problem using the same words to them as well. I have done in the past and will do in the future.

It's not good when an MP gets angry when they are being pulled up on their behaviour. Theresa May does it. So do other MPs. There are also many decent MPs - both male and female who don't do it. Who only get angry when they are lied to by other politicians who say they are providing money to education and the NHS.

But Theresa May is one of those politicians who gets angry when they are pulled up and called out on their words and lies. Just like Cameron did.

Orlantina · 21/04/2017 18:18

Men are not criticised for standing up to hecklers

This has fuck all to do with heckling but getting angry when Labour MPs call her out on her lies after she has been asked a question.

There are male MPs who do it as well. Who get visibly angry when called out.

She gets called out a lot because she lies. Just like Cameron did.

papayasareyum · 21/04/2017 18:21

I'm not a big fan of Theresa May, but admit that we need someone like her to make the Brexit process as smooth as possible.
Can you imagine Corbyn trying to manage negotiations? No, neither can I.

DryIce · 21/04/2017 18:35

Where has this idea that Theresa May is a master negotiator come from? As far as i can tell, she avoids answering questions and refuses to attend the pre election debates.

klondikecookie · 21/04/2017 18:38

If he's only asked 6 questions at (weekly) PMQs since he became leader of the opposition, then he's absolutely bloody awful!
Are we just making stuff up now?

If Theresa May eats babies then I don't think I can vote for her.

clairethewitch70 · 21/04/2017 18:45

When wondering what Labour government can do, you only need to look at Wales. Shit NHS, large class sizes etc

Orlantina · 21/04/2017 18:46

f he's only asked 6 questions at (weekly) PMQs since he became leader of the opposition, then he's absolutely bloody awful

He only gets to ask 6 questions a week at PMQs.

Lying to the House has pretty serious consequences

Read Hansard. Avoiding the question, not answering the question, misleading the House with answers - especially with regards to education funding.
