To ask for your advice on pregnancy bras?

I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and need some new pregnancy bras as mine are feeling too tight. I would be really grateful for

(A) any recommendations on where sells nice comfy pregnancy bras and

(B) any advice on what size to order. My current bras are a 36G and the cups feel big enough but they are very tight under the bust. I assume I therefore need a 38 but would 38G be best or do I need to change the cup size because the band size is going up?

(I appreciate that the best thing would be to go and get measured but not sure when I will next have a chance to do that).

Get measured first and foremost. I am very big busted so i got measured at rigby and peller and then bought 1 bra from there and the rest from figleaves.

Try John Lewis and Bravissimo to get measured and buy bras. I found the Bravado bras from JL great. Avoid Mothercare. Tbh if you really don't have time to get measured you could order a few different sizes and just see what fits you.

They're really boring but Debenhams do comfy non wired ones. They ain't pretty and they don't give you a knockout shape but they are the most comfortable ones I've found.

I'm 28 weeks with ds2 and I'm going to wait until after I've finished BFing and treat myself to some beautiful sets then - for me, not for dh he is not coming near me ever again

Oh yes Alcoholics, agree completely - mothercare are absolutely dreadful. Despite telling the fitter that I was an FF/G in my last pregnancy she insisted I was a D. Being on the verge of puking all over the fitting rooms I grabbed the bras and went. Not surprisingly they didn't fit

I swore by sports bras. Many stores sell nice comfy stretchy ones that still hold you in place. I got a good one from sports direct

Have you tried measuring yourself using the boob or bust calculator, it will probably come up quite different to what you think? I went from wearing 36F to 32H and the fit is SO much better, and I never get backache any more. booborbust.com
I got a couple of very comfy bras from jojomamanbebe when I was pregnant, but otherwise I second bravissimo

I found the most comfortable bras were sports/post-surgery bras with no underwires. Still supportive but no jabbing. Picked up two from Asda for £6 each and they're the best ones I've had so far

Also agree that Mothercare are shit. Avoid if you can or measure yourself first and ignore anything their fitting room assistants say! However, if you do measure yourself, be prepared for fuck all choice because they won't stock anything that looks half decent in a size that actually fits. Might be projecting just a teeny bit there

I am 20 weeks pregnant and had the most awful bra fitting experience at John Lewis last week. I measured myself using the MN way linked by a previous poster and it proved just how wrong they were. I've now ordered a selection online and have fit myself at home and feel so much comfier. If I could have gone to a bravissimo I would have done but don't have one locally to me.

Sports bras all the way. Mine were the Shock Absorber way back in the days when they were promoted by Sally Gunnell.

I find sports bras made my neck and ribcage ache during pregnancy. I liked stuff from hotmilk and got to use them for ages when nursing too.

Royce and hotmilk are good for nursing bras in big cups.
