I'm having trouble getting my six year old to eat anything for breakfast. The past few days it's been just a multivitamin and a yoghurt. She used to eat toast and fruit but is fed up with toast now and no longer wants fruit at breakfast time. She doesn't like anything cooked like eggs and won't try any cereals. What do your DC eat?

Porridge with honey or cereal.

skerrywind · 19/04/2017 06:26

Nothing.

I gave up years ago.

Does she eat meat?

A person told me once that there husband eat meat 3 times a day.

Here is a website I found www.brainbalancecenters.com/blog/2014/07/sensory-friendly-foods-child-will-love/ hopefully this will help. One of my children were picky with their food and all 3 of my girls hate tomatoes.

DD is 5 and she has a poached egg on half a piece of toast and butter/jam on the other.

YANBU to ask, no. What a bizarre thing to start an AIBU about. Did you really think anyone was going to say YABU?

Pieceofcake17 · 19/04/2017 07:16

Try baked beans on or off toast.
Fry cold baked potatoes in little oil and add salt and pepper.
(so delicious anytime anywhere...)

skyzumarubble · 19/04/2017 08:46

Mine are 6 and have ham, cheese and Greek yogurt.

Hoptastic53 · 19/04/2017 22:52

She doesn't eat cooked food besides sausages and nuggets piece of cake Hmm And even they are a rarity.

My DS alternates between weetabix, porridge and banana and cinnamon muesli..he is 10 months though! He loves most things but he struggles with his gag reflex still though he is improving at last!

GraceGrape · 19/04/2017 23:00

Will she eat other things with the crackers? Peanut butter and jam? Chocolate spread?

My son are salt and vinegar rice cakes for breakfast for about a year- they're surprisingly filling and no different to rice crispies really!

HorridHenryrule · 21/04/2017 15:13

Have you tried guilt tripping her to eat that may work. I guilt trip my lot into eating. They say they are fucking hungry and then they don't want to fucking eat.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 21/04/2017 15:35

Brioche and yoghurt because that's all I can get in her in the morning, and quite frankly even that's a struggle sometimes. They have mid-morning snack of fruit and a cooked lunch then snack for after school club so I think she's probably fine with that. She'd definitely tell me if she was hungry!

Gooseygoosey12345 · 21/04/2017 15:37

Also, I don't eat breakfast. Haven't for as long as I remember. It genuinely makes me feel ill. So I think, if I don't want it and someone forced me to eat it I would not be happy! So why force the kids to? Obviously something is better than nothing but if they really don't want it why force it?

hibbledobble · 21/04/2017 15:47

Weetabix or porridge, often with a banana.

I don't believe in the sugary breakfast cereals, and genuinely think they should be marketed as a treat rather than a breakfast

Concussedbanana · 21/04/2017 16:47

What about potato waffles? Was the only thing my very fussy Ds would eat for a while

Cutesbabasmummy · 21/04/2017 18:15

My 2 year 9ld eats weetabix, cheerios, coco pops, rice krispues, or wheat puffs. Off toast at the moment but does like toasted cinnamon and raisin bagel with butter on. And sometimes croissant. I on the other hand hated breakfast as a child. My mum even let me eat chocolate cake and cream rather than go to school with nothing in me!
