I like how bright it is, and the living room is a fab size.

Great for a first home (as in the building/bricks/decor/floor space). No idea of area etc.

Rat thanks for the input but I have no children, it's about 20 minutes drive away from work and it's about £10k under my top end of budget.

Just to add, it'll be my first home. Location wise, the area used to be an old council estate. Mostly privately owned houses.

If that's where you're from and you want to live there, what is the issue! You can afford it, so go for it.

Would I live there? No. Would it be an option for me if I lived in that area? No.

The questions are, do you like it? Would the lack of downstairs loo out you off? Would the low ceilings out you off? The outside? The area?

Ex council houses tend to be larger than average and well built. it certainly isn't a "posh" part of Leeds but it is decent and the local schools are rated Good. The number of children receiving Pupil Premium funding is quite high, which reflects the catchment area but the school seems to ensure the children make good progress.

I wouldn't buy it but thats neither here nor there. What is the aibu?

I think it's quite depressing, the windows are small, the kitchen is nice enough though. I would buy if only to get on the ladder.

It'll be cheap because the area isn't the greatest. However there are worse parts of ls10.

According to street check it's still over 40% social housing so by no means mostly privately owned op.
