To never change my eating ways?

For example, I'll have very next to raw steak and chips for a pub grub dinner but won't hesitate to eat chicken nuggets and chips for pub grub lunch/whenever I'm at a breakfast cafe. This is usually paired with a apple tango (if available).

I always have a WKD with my dinners out, lemonade at the moment due to pregnancy. I often get comments that my pallet has never changed. Sometimes even raised eyebrows. My Dad finds it hilarious.

If 'out for coffee' with friends, I'll always choose a refreshing option, such as a smoothie etc. Again, has resulted in some baffled looks, especially during the Winter.

I'm a huge lover of fruit (any fruit at all), and tomato soup etc. Will eat whatever vegetarian DH eats for dinner and don't bring meat into the house. DH never really comments on my eating out habits but this is largely due to his upset of my carnivorous ways Grin

So, AIBU and should I eat differently, or are other people BU. Or, do I just have oddly faffy family and friends? Shock

I know a few adults who don't drink tea or coffee. I don't drink tea much but have 'trained' myself to like it although I'll never buy one when out.

You're fine. Do what you want. I'd be bloody annoyed with a husband slagging me off for eating meat though. I'm a veggie (since the sandal-eating 80s) but the only thing I have ever had an issue with was when DH ate snails! There was real food on the menu, he had no need.

Commenting on what others are eating is bad manners, full stop.
I may make an occasional exception for parents of young children, but even that should be kept to a minimum.
Hth.

As long as you'll eat what someone puts in front of you if someone cooks for you at their house, and you get the nutrition you need from what you eat, I don't see the issue.

If you're happy and comfortable then I don't think you need to change. You like what you like and that's absolutely fine.

But if it restricts you and makes you feel awkward and unhappy you might want to look into ways to branch out.

There are very, very few foods I can eat without extreme anxiety, panic and compensatory measures and it is very life limiting. I don't eat at other people's houses, I very, very rarely eat out and I often avoid social occasions that involve food. You don't want to be like that.

I'm more concerned about sewing drinking fuzzy juice. 😉😁

FI0 he doesn't slag me off but he doesn't like it. It really gets to him that his other half eats animals but he doesn't comment as he knows these are not entirely reasonable feelings etc.

I respect his dislike of meat and therefore don't bring it into the house. I don't like the smell of meat being cooked either so I'm happy not to have it in

I will try and eat what someone puts in front of me at their house, but I won't force myself/clean my plate off if I'm full or don't like it.

manic I'm sorry to hear food is like this for you. I can thankfully say my choice of good definitely isn't down to anything like that, it's just what I like to eat

It sounds as if you have a pretty varied diet to me ( I assume you aren't eating the same vegetarian meal every night). You eat curry, sushi etc. it's just that you have chicken nuggets occasionally if you are eating somewhere that serves them, if you like them, why not, it's not as if that's all you'll eat. I know plenty of people that always have a steak for meals out. I have friends who are way fussier than you, their endless list of dislikes when it comes to food drives me to distraction, particularly when they refuse to eat something like baked beans ( because they hate tomatoes) but eat pizza and spaghetti Bolognese without comment!
