DH and DS5 went to Costco yesterday. They came back with a massive "paddling pool" (200 x 170 x 55cm). Our back yard is only slightly bigger than that Shock
It is going to be a PITA to fill in and keep clean, plus we will hardly be able to use it as we live in the North East and it never gets that hot!

I know he meant well, but he never thinks things through!

I have a mental pic of OP putting wellingtons and a s'wester on to change the washing out? Grin

I think I've seen that one in Costco, it is lovely but big! We have a tiny garden so didn't buy it.

I always hanker after the big swimming pool type ones in Costco, but our garden is tiny.

Solo · 15/04/2017 17:29

It's only 6 1/2ft x 5 1/2ft give or takle an inch! It's not massive at all!

Connect hosepipe to the kitchen hot tap.
Can't wait to get ours set up this summer!

PS. We are in the very very north of Scotland and it gets loads of use.

sohelpmegoad · 15/04/2017 17:46

I bought one for £17.00 the summer of 2006 (hot for a change) it was 10 feet and the children could swim in it, they spent the whole summer in it, and I live in scotland
We used to clean it out with fishing poles and cloths on their feet
I deflated it for the winter and the next hot enough summer was 2011, and by then the mice had eaten holes in it.
The children still remember the Pool summer

IamAporcupine · 17/04/2017 17:42

Update - we decided that we'll give it a go. If it only lasts one summer, then so be it!

We have one of those dimensions. This will be it's third and last summer. It's probably had only 12 days of use so far (we're away most of August). Despite what my children think, I am not replacing it!
