To have become obsessed with trying to understand the real housewives programmes?

I think I must be a bit unreasonable at least. I don't know where this passionate need to understand the programmes comes from.

Are they friends? If they aren't, whats the point? What are they shouting about? Why do they tell people they don't like all their personal secrets?

Can anyone explain? What is these people's relationship with each other and then what?

New York, Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules are my favourites. Absolute car crash TV. Love them.

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 09/04/2017 17:34

What channels and times are they on at? I used to love the OC one years ago but never see them on the TV anymore!

MrsDustyBusty · 09/04/2017 19:27

What does Vanderpump Rules mean? Is it Vanderpump Roolz!!!! or Vanderpump (makes the) Rules? (because it's her resturant)?

I have a hayu subscscription Blush
It's Lisa Vanderpump who rules as she is the boss lady. Series 1&2 of VPR and Series 3 of RHONY (scary island) are the best.

TonySopranosVest · 10/04/2017 19:52

Check ITV 2 for OC and Atlanta

areyoubeingserviced · 10/04/2017 19:56

I think the Atlanta one is great TV.
My guilty pleasure

Secretsweets · 10/04/2017 20:20

I love it !!! Atlanta and Jersey are the best !

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 10/04/2017 20:22

How the bejesus did I miss that RHOC is back on?
Now going to gorge on two episodes of absolute garbage. Rough as toast, thick as mince and so entertaining thanks to their total ignorance as to the term "self parody"
Gotta love 'em

Llamallann · 10/04/2017 20:23

Love RH, I also love Vanderpump Rules and I watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians like it's a religion.

I'm not even sorry... judge away, I deserve it!! Grin

Philoslothy · 10/04/2017 20:24

I love RHOBH and RHOC and definitely know women like them

HooAteMyCheese · 10/04/2017 20:31

Sorry to digress a little, BUT There's anothe show I think call Wags or something? It's about wives and girlfriends of sportsmen, American as well. Anyhoo...there are two women in there, who look like sisters? They have extremely long straight and shiny fake hair, I can't tell wether they are white or black because they look orange, so not sure wether it's a tan or just their skin colour. They look scary! Really scary, like life sized dolls but walking and talking. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

HooAteMyCheese · 10/04/2017 20:37

Oh!and answer to the OP - There's nothing to understand, that's the beauty of it. It really is as shallow as it all seems, just go with the flow Grin

CurlsandCurves · 10/04/2017 21:00

Oh I absolutely love all the real housewives franchises!

Got a bit bored with Atlanta but I've now got back into series 9.

Loving Cheshire, the new girl Ester is utterly bonkers!

BelleEsme · 10/04/2017 21:16

I truly believe these programmes saved my sanity 6 years ago whilst breast feeding and pumping for my DD! And I still absolutely love them all 😍 If you like RH you should also check out Mob Wives, now those women know how to fight!!!

Philoslothy · 10/04/2017 21:40

If I was to pick up another housewives series in addition to Beverly Hills and Cheshire which one should it be?

BelleEsme · 10/04/2017 21:46

@Philoslothy definitely Orange County, it was the original. I also really like New York and New Jersey Smile

FunkinEll · 10/04/2017 21:47

Philoslothy New York early series or the OC. The first few New York series were really good though.

Have you tried Ladies of London yet? That is perfect for RH fans.

I love the real housewife programmes, total shite telly but a great day to switch off after busy days. I reckon they're the modern day answer for Soaps.

bellarosa81 · 10/04/2017 21:53

Ladies of London is hilarious! I want to be Sophie's bff...It's a slippery slope though - I started with vanderpump rules and became obsessed with Lisa which led to me wanting to see real housewives of B.H ....I love Yolanda and both Lisas ..dear me!

CeCeBloomer · 10/04/2017 21:53

It is cast they don't all know each other before. It has a very set formula for characters - a bit like a manufactured boy band - my fave is the lesser knows RHO Vancouver- bloody brilliant

Philoslothy · 10/04/2017 21:59

I have a hayu subscription, I told DH that it was for our teenagers but they never watch it Blush

Thanks for the recommendations

EatSpamAmandaLamb · 10/04/2017 22:21

I love them, they are utter trash and as my friend says "a vacation for the brain".
My favourites are Atlanta, Potomac, NYC, NJ and Beverly Hills, although I now really like the Aussie/NZ ones.

Like someone said up thread Phaedra (Atlanta) is utterly mesmerising to watch. Her lies about the length of her first pregnancy were hilariously bad, especially considering one of the housewives used to be a nurse.

EatSpamAmandaLamb · 10/04/2017 22:25

Married to Medicine is utterly bonkers too. It's about doctors and women married to people in the medical field, the level of bitching is off the scale.

KatieScarlett · 11/04/2017 12:35

New Jersey, the Danielle Staub seasons are also a must watch.

Katedotness1963 · 11/04/2017 12:58

I watch OC, BH and NY. I did watch most of the first season of the OC one before I realised they were holding oranges in the opening credits, and not breast implants.

AnoiseAnnoysanOyster · 11/04/2017 13:13

It's so set up, I know someone who watched one being filmed and said it took them ages to film one scene.
