to be annoyed at myself for not being 'sunny weather ready'

I've spent almost an hour going through last years Summer clothes.

Gah!

My legs are appalling. Dry, need shaving, no body cream to make them look half decent.

3/4 length jeans will have to go RIGHT the way to the back of the wardrobe until I can sort this!

Ffs, I knew it was going to be warm but I just can't be arsed to bare any flesh at all.

I know IABU but please tell me I'm not the only one who has done this today!

I've decided to put my full length jeans back on and stick a short sleeved top on. I really can't be bothered to faff about with my legs today.

Ds won't fit into any of last years shorts either. He can get them on but can't sit down!

Glad it's given out snow next week!

Topcat, yes, sun is very good for eczema, I feel for you. The only place I get it is on my eyelids of all places!

I will be taking note of all your shaving alternatives if cream not available. Thank you.

Yup, as PPs have mentioned, olive oil's a brilliant all-rounder for so much.

My dirt cheap standby for areas that need more intense smoothing (heels/ knees/ elbows) is own-brand table salt, with just enough olive oil to form a thinnish paste, on damp skin.
Works a treat. Often far more effectively than expensive scrubs.

Miles,

Snap! Wink

Bluetrews25 · 08/04/2017 14:09

Talc is also great for shaving with - it just glides.
Eh ? Some of you need to go clothes shopping?? Do you bin everything at the end of the season? Are you Real Housewives or something?

I'm feeling frustrated too. I had no idea it would be so warm this weekend- I know the weather forecast said good weather but it's usually wrong so I took it with a pinch of salt. I'm almost 12 weeks pregnant but due to complications my belly is 5 months pregnant size and so nothing in last year's summer wardrobe fits me. I haven't had my scan yet so don't want to invest in any maternity clothes until I know everything is fine but I'm struggling to contain and hide my belly. I've got a big event tomorrow and had planned my outfit to hide my stomach but the outfit isn't suitable for warm sunny weather so I'm going to be fat, hot and uncomfortable all day. Just tried to buy something loose and appropriate for tomorrow and I looked like a fat rat in a tent in everything. Waaaaaah 😩

Bluetrews,

Talc info's useful to know...would never have guessed that. Thanks.

Make the most of it, it's not gonna last!

Rainbow, hope all goes ok for you tomorrow and good luck with your pregnancy Flowers

Rainbow,

Could you do something like this, but with a lightweight, summery scarf?

Maybe beg a simple, stretchy and sleeveless dress from a mum friend? Or send them out on an emergency shop (they've got 2ish hours left!).

Hair, if long enough, in an updo? Feature jewellery?

Blue- due to medication I've gone up two sizes from last summer. I was a ten now a 14. I needed new stuff. Thank god for peacocks and the voucher they let you have a fiver off for every 35 spent. Me sorted as long as the shorts fit
