To be puzzled at Asda deliveries (light hearted!)

I ordered hair dye recently. They substituted it for a different hair dye, like they know what colour i want my hair to be! However, if i order something like a pepperoni pizza it's "not available". So there's no other types of pepperoni pizza anywhere? Or even a pizza you think i might like instead. But you're happy to choose my hair colour!? Ok so i can give the hair dye back and get a refund, but i still don't have a pizza for tea Grin

Do you get the text messages too? Your delivery is on time, now it's early, within 5 mins of each other and hen they turn up 2 mins before the end of the slot anyway? Or sit outside your house an hour early?

Yes I agree the home shopping pickers so tend to be quite young men in the Asda store I worked at too.
They literally have no common sense at all.

I do love my deliveries though! I have more free time since changing to deliveries- not sure what i do with it! And they give us a laugh sometimes...

I ordered a toilet fresher thing, one of those you hook into the toilet seat, I got a room air fresh thingy instead, much more expensive so I didn't mind.

Two from Ocado - a small pack of two salmon fillets unavailable, so they sent a whole side of salmon (pretty sure for the same price, I kept it anyway, and cut it all up for the freezer), and I once ordered loads of lamb shanks for a posh dinner and they sent two packs of value range mutton mince Confused

my favourite sub was on here a while ago.
Kiwi shoe polish not available, to they subed with fresh kiwis!

lalalalyra · 07/04/2017 14:44

Just before Christmas a couple of years ago they subbed my unavailable cat food for dog food. As if there was no cat food whatsoever in the whole store... the driver was mortified!

I think the people who pick the substitutes are just a bit daft sometimes!

It's all done by a computer nowadays.

I wonder if any of us have picked in the same home shopping depo, although I assume they're all as batshit as each other.

PPs are right, you get pulled in if you don't provide subs, it would depend what pizza you ordered, if it was a chilled one then there might not have actually been another pepperoni pizza in the chilled section (I worked in chilled, all the pizzas used to run out daily!) some people were quite dim & would just sub for anything, I like to think I was a bit more intelligent & gave it a bit of thought! I would always 'nil pick' hair dye because as you say, how can you possibly get that right for someone if the one they want isn't there!
