To think that too many job descriptions are written in gobbledygook?

I'm looking for jobs online at the moment and I frequently have the experience of reading a job description and then thinking, I have no idea what this job involves! Is it just me ...?

The word 'void' presumably has a specific meaning in the field of housing, so 'empty' is probably not accurate. Like many jobs, there's an associated vocabulary. For example, in retail, a warehouse is somewhere goods are held at the back of a store, not a large shed on an industrial estate, that's a Distribution Centre. A fulfilment centre is something different - but all 3 are places to securely hold stock.

I work for te public sector and even given that words have specific meanings we're pushed to make out publications understandable by the average person. Removing jargon etc.
