To be worried

Not that I shouldn't be worried but am I being over the top. My nearly 9 year old has been waking for last 2/3 weeks in a cold sweat nearly every night. He says nothing is bothering him other than waking up because he is drenched. He hasn't got a fever but he had a foot injury just before and I am not sure whether it is linked, but he has also caught every bug going for the past few months.

I am trying to get into the doctors but I can't seem to get an appointment but something is eating away at me and I can't stop thinking about it. I can also imagine the doctor looking at me as though im a crazy mother! AIBU?

Ring the GP tomorrow and request a telephone consultation , then explain the situation to the Dr and they will tell you if they need to see him . Most situations can initially be sorted on the phone and most GPs are happy to do calls .

I will try that thank you. No one offered that to me when I have called them before so I will ask tomorrow. I always second guess myself in case I am wasting time although usually it is something that needs attention but the symptoms seem so vague but I know something isn't right.

If your GP won't offer this service I'd look around for another one that does , it makes life so much easier . Hope your son is ok .

Ours do this as default, you can't see a doctor any other way.
You could also call 111 and talk it through with a nurse

I called today and the doctor that does the over the phone triage was off today so they have booked me appointment for 2 May which I can cancel.

It makes me think maybe some of these appointments that have been taken have been pre-booked way in advance and have been forgotten about. My option is to try again tomorrow for the 8 am madness.

I may have to try 111 but will keep a close eye on him.

Could it be hormonal/early puberty?

My mum did say that today SaucyJack that it could be hormonal.

Sudden profuse sweating can be an indicator of diabetes, my DF was diagnosed after seeing his GP many years ago due to sweats.
