To think at 32 weeks pregnant with twins I can eat what I want without being judged?

I'm craving bbq sauce and onions so I made a sandwich with just fried onions and bbq sauce. Bloody delicious. My sister who's visiting me said it's digusting and I should be eating healthy. I do eat healthy most of the time.

AIBU to think I can eat what I want when I'm 32 weeks pregnant with twins??

Stick your sister on the barbie and eat her next time she makes such a silly comment. Christ, if I ate nothing but healthy stuff this pregnancy (also pregnant with twins) I'd have quite literally starved by now. All I could keep down in the early days were carbs - chips, bread, pasta, the blander the better.

If ever there was a time for looking at the bigger picture, eating a fried onion and barbecue sandwich, and just getting to the end with everyone still alive, pregnancy is it.

I'd say anything as long as it doesn't give you heartburn or similar. But saying that I agree that if you go on binges the weight could prove a struggle to lose in future.

FruitCider · 04/04/2017 13:10

It's better than my craving - extra vinegar on salt and vinegar crisps, or clotted cream!

Tell her to sod off!

amusedbush · 04/04/2017 13:13

Sit beside her and breathe onion-y goodness in her face.

Ooooh FruitCider... the very thought of extra vinegar on anything is making my mouth water right now...

[waddles off for some vinegary chips]

I did have carnation milk on a fruit cocktail yesterday. That was like some sort of orgasmic out-of-body bliss that I think I shall also be repeating again in the near future. Pure heaven.

YABU for eating BBQ sauce ever. I'll have mustard and ketchup on mine please.

Totally agree that you can and should eat what you want, in the confines of an otherwise-balanced diet. I assume your sister doesn't think you're eating these for 3 meals a day, every day?!
Does she honestly never treat herself to anything, pregnant or not?

You can't help the cravings! Eat what your body is telling you you need!
^ this, however, is nonsense based on stupid old wives tales about women sucking coal and pennies

AdoraBell · 04/04/2017 13:18

Onions are part of your 5/10 a day.

Also, when your DSis is 32 weeks pregnant with twins she'll probably change her mind about is acceptable Wink

I pate and blue cheese at approx 32/33 weeks with my twins, and it was lush Grin

44PumpLane · 04/04/2017 13:22

Eat whatever you want! When I was pregnant with twins last year you get to a certain stage where you can barely fit anything in anymore so ultimately I lost weight!!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 04/04/2017 13:22

Your sister sounds like a twat, commenting on what people are eating (pregnant or otherwise) is so rude. Tell her to butt out and leave you to eat your sandwich in peace!

Also, for the onion enthusiasts on this thread: houmous, fried (red) onion and a handful of rocket makes a GORGEOUS toastie. Just make sure you brush your teeth afterwards Grin

WonderMike · 04/04/2017 13:28

Wow, she's brave Grin

SomethingBorrowed · 04/04/2017 13:38

Eat what you want!
I gained 35kgs+ when pregnant withthe DT. Lost it all and more just by taking care of them afterwards, most exercice I have ever done Wink

ShoesHaveSouls · 04/04/2017 13:46

YANBU. I don't know what it is with this policing what pregnant women eat (or even what non-pregnant women eat for that matter!). Everyone seems to think they have a say - from waitresses, to supermarket checkout people, to your own family. It's tiresome.

User998877 · 04/04/2017 13:53

I'm jus very envious that you can eat at all! Tell her to bugger off and make you another Grin

When I was pregnant with my dts's I only craved very healthy food, which I hasten to add is not my usual diet. Normal services were resumed once they were here [Embarrassed]

Happyandhungry · 04/04/2017 15:24

38 weeks here just had a massive mcdonalds #sorrynotsorry

Jenwen22 · 05/04/2017 09:58

Eat what you want and tell the silly cow to bugger off.
