I just lost my shit on the bus

So I managed to keep it in throughout the "watch where you're going" comments and the sniggering (I walk with a white cane) from the fucknuggets sitting in the space reserved for wheelchairs (yup...one of THOSE threads...bear with). I stood near the front as the bus was nearly full.

A lady in a wheelchair got on. More fucking heckles, followed by refusals to move by the group (three lads, one girl). Comments such as:

"I've paid for my seat the same as you"

"You've already got a seat" (I shit you not!!!)

I KNOW I should have minded my own business- but I'd had it. Really long morning being pissed about by the council, and had been in tears just before I got on the bus.

They ignored the bus driver when he started to intervene.

I said, "if Ignorant Cuntitis was a disabillity, you'd have every right to sit there!" and some other choice one liners stolen inspired by this site 😂

Does this make me as bad as them?

They moved to the back of the bus in the end. I'm sitting near the middle as I type (hour long bus journey) and I can hear the little wankpots making comments about "the disabled (fucking hate that phrasr, forgive me- I'm quoting them) thinking they own the world". Oh, and the fact that "their fucking type" (they've used the "p" word a few times- I get mistaken as Asian sometimes, I'm actually Jamaican/Italian) can say what we like because the police will protect us!

I hope to God they don't get off at the same bus stop...

That isn't losing your shit - that's sticking up for yourself

I suggest asking the driver to have someone from the bus station meet you when you get off the bus. In that way the nightmares in the back can't follow you and hassle you along the way. They can also see who they are and possibly look into banning them.

If they're still going with the comments, and you have your phone out anyway, can you discretely video them (for the Police, not to post on here)?

I've got myself into a few pickles for standing up for myself/those around me. Those times where you just know everyone is thinking the same as you but no one says anything.

But I find it is easier dealt with politely. I totally understand why you went in swearing but it probably didn't help the situation.

The bus driver was an asspick too tbh- slung my change at me (I'm not "obviously" VI by loooking at me, so may have to let him off) then made this huge sigh-noise when I fumbled.

When I was catching the same bus into work every morning, there was a young man with Down's Syndrome on the bus. The bus would be absolutely packed, standing room only, but nobody would sit next to him. I had no problem with it, and had a seat every morning . Him and I would have nice chats and became friends. People can be such assholes!!!!

And Geek if I'd seen the words Sinai peninsular on a screen, I would have thought it was an STD- I really am that dumb! I can play "Flight of the Bumblebee" backwards, but Geography? Total dustball

I've stood up for someone on a crowded bus when he was being verbally abused and threatened by a drunken thug; I was very disappointed that nobody else backed me up and fully bracing myself for a load of abuse about my size from said thug, but he seemed to be so surprised that someone called him on his unacceptable behaviour that he STFU and got off a full 40 minuted before his destination :D
