seriously ive really been very understanding but this is becoming a bloody joke!............................
i live in a semi and my elderly neighbours lounge and my lounge are seperated by a very thick 1920s built wall, anyhooow since we moved in 5 years ago their tv has got louder and louder and louder,
we could always hear it in our lounge (great when you have a blinding headache and need to chill out!!)) but its just got ridiculously loud now to the point that i have to struggle to remember which programme im actually watching, mine or theirs!
the thing that really pi$$es me off is that althought the guy is hard of hearing he does have a bloody hearing aid that he never turns on!!!!
arggggggggggggggggggh!!!
seriously am i being unreasonable?????!!

Our street had a power cut once, within ten minutes we could hear his wife orgasming through the walls.

DW and I laughed our heads off, dd was asking who that was!!

New neighbours here too. Young couple, very loving..... DS#1 came downstairs the other night quite worried because there was a 'dog panting' in the room next to his. DH and I had a bit of a quiet snigger and told him not to worry - put him back to bed. Then we heard the 'dog' - it was someone sanding down woodwork...

suedonim · 08/03/2007 16:01

Yeah but was it enough to power up your lights again, HD?

HappyDaddy · 08/03/2007 16:02

Thankfully not. Imagine your lights being powered by shag power.

suedonim · 08/03/2007 16:08

But it would be freeeeeee and non-polluting!

Troutpout · 08/03/2007 16:09

No not unreasonable
I aggree about a tactfull approaching of them and asking them to turn it down (or at least blardy turning on his hearing aid!!)

My retired neighbours DO THE DEED on a saturday night.

While me and DH sit in bed primly reading our novels like Basil and Sybil off Fawlty Towers.

But yes I'd mention it before you do anything else, preferably sweeten it by commenting on his FABULOUS lawn, then say you can hear it really loudly sometimes, and can they hear yours? And it is against a wall, could they move it?

Then put soundproofing up or line the wall with books.
