I was on an interview panel earlier, candidate didn't really sell herself and didn't seem to have researched the post. Her only question for the panel was "how much is sick pay?"

No she didn't get the job but she did score highest on the interview part.

To be honest, we have a scoring sheet and we don't grade the questions that candidates ask bit at the end - it's honesty a time when they can ask about something that interests them although a question about sick leave would certainly cause a few eyebrows to raise.

We all just smiled when she answered like that because from the start she clearly had a very polished interview technique and answered the other questions very well (apart from the technical ones which was the reason she didn't get the job in the end)

Quite recently at the end of a (really not great) interview when we asked if the candidate had any questions he said "are you going to let me walk out of this door without offering me the job??"

We said err... yes? It was awkward.

I introduced someone for a role at the company I was working at. She was interviewed and asked exactly the same question. She was actually offered the role they were desperate and turned it down because she didn't like the rules around sickness Confused.

Someone I was interviewing answered their phone in the middle of the interview. She told the caller she'd call them back that she wouldn't be long. You weren't wrong love!

We asked one girl for a moral dilemma she'd faced and she told us about the time she'd considered calling into work sick when she wasn't as she was busy. Unfortunately she then told us the decision she'd made was she had called in sick. Strangely she didn't get the job!! I can only assume she panicked at the question!
