Son sick this morning

He vomited a few times between 6-630.

He's fine. Jumping about, downstairs eating breakfast. School rules are that he should stay off school.

AIBU to send him? He's desperate to go and says he's fine. Nothing exciting happening in school today either.
I'm a sahm so no difference if he's at school or not for me.

My daughter was sick at 11pm. She's not going to school. Dd1 never really got vomiting bugs, but DD2 gets a lot. Probably because someone like you keeps sending their kids into school with it

Dear God even if I wasn't emerophobic, I think you'd be incredibly selfish to send him in.

Yes he may feel better, yes it may have just been a once (twice) off but you can't be sure.

Keep him off just in case. It's the right thing to do.

Do not send him. Mine was sick on Friday but was fine by 8am and I didn't send him. My friends daughter was sick on Tuesday and still sent her. I was furious, it's a really selfish thing to do.

When I was a TA the amount of kids who would cheerfully announce 'I was sick this morning' and then throw up was unbelievable. No is your answer

Please, please, be a responsible parent and do not send him to school today or tomorrow.

The 48 hour rule at our school is for a good reason. Given that schools are keen to have high attendance rates they wouldn't aak parents to keep children off if they didn't think it was absolutely necessary. You don't know why he's been sick and he could easily pass something nasty on.

Enjoy some downtime with him, it's really not a big deal for you if you're a SAHP. I hope he's better soon.

My pet peeve as a teacher was 'he wanted to come in.' Kids want all sorts of things. You're the adult.

You do realise that if you send him in then other children are going to catch the pukes? And maye the teacher/other staff too?

Don't send him.

If he is in happy bouncy mood, then take him out - park, beach, woods etc to blow off some steam.

Take sickbags and a change of clothes for both if you in case he technocolour yawns later Wink

Needs to be at home tomorrow as well as today. I am always amazed by the amount of people who think rules don't apply to them!

Possibly - just wondering how she knows and why it would influence her decision in any way.

I guess it depends if you know he's often sick through excitement/travel etc?

However if not a normal thing then you probably should keep him off.
