That if you're cold, you can put a cardigan or jacket on?
I share an office with 4 other ladies, I'm the youngest/newest member of the team but not at the bottom of the pecking order (not sure if that's relevant or not but hey ho).
I am notoriously warm blooded. I do not feel the cold and I never wear a coat, even in the depths of winter (they all joke that there's something wrong with me).
Every office I've worked in, I've either had to have the air-con on or the window open as I start to feel very sickly if its too warm. It also really affects my sinuses so I get headaches and can't breath properly. Also, I work in the NHS and they seem to have the heating on all the bloody time, so it's ridiculously warm.
Now, I am a big girl and I get it that people smaller than me feel the cold more than I do. But is it unreasonable to expect that if my colleagues are cold, and constantly moaning about how cold they are and "is there a breeze, is the window open, I'm chilly" then they should be prepared and bring a cardigan to work with them.
I can't wear less clothes. I can't wear strappy tops and short skirts as it would be highly inappropriate (not to mention unsightly due to my massive girth).
I'm getting rather fed up of the comments about me having my window open (it's only open an inch or two) or my desk fan on (which is one of those little usb ones).
Surely it's easier for them to get warm than it is for me to cool down? They can put a layer on, I can't strip off..... (and before anyone says anything, I am actively trying to lose weight, but it's a very slow process).
I have actually said words to this effect multiple times, but I seem to just get ignored and they carry on complaining about how cold they are (the sun is cracking the flags outside btw so maybe there's something wrong with them!!)
AIBU?
