to have stayed in bed all day?

I'm writing this from bed. I'm single and childless and have had nothing pressing to do other than washing, which is now in the machine.

I've finished a book, read a LOT of MN, eaten lunch (chicken salad) all from bed today and it feels SO GOOD

I'm going to venture out shortly and purchase some Camembert for dinner. I may eat it in bed, have a bath and then come straight back to my cocoon.

More of a boast than an AIBU, really. But I've not done this for years (unless ill) and it's been an utterly perfect Sunday

I've had a weekend of virtually nothing as I'm so tired and no energy.

Today has been watching Prime Suspect from the beginning and this isn't a stealth boast, I'm just going to outright brag, I cooked the best roast beef I've ever cooked and instead of having a full roast dinner, we just had hot roast beef sandwiches Grin

I was hoping you lot would understand!!

He had a pony tail, an undercut and a beard. And a sexily rugged face. He wouldn't look particularly odd with the bottom half of a horse. Someone please understand

Even if I did understand, I wouldn't admit it. Because I'm jealous Wink.

Hopefully Mr Tumnus will text you soon though, eh?

loopylulu80 · 19/03/2017 18:58

Sounds bliss. Yesterday I woke about 9am, watched a bit of to in bed, hubby had slept in the spare room as was put drinking Friday night and snores like a beast when he drinks. So I got into the spare bed with him, had a chat, played with the cats then went back to sleep for another two hours. We then simply moved from the bed to the sofa and stayed there all day.

No kids here either so no guilt whatsoever.

JamesDelaneysHat · 19/03/2017 18:58

Oh actually Mr Tumnus is a Faun!

to have stayed in bed all day?
Llanali · 19/03/2017 19:30

I might hate you.

I neeeeeeeeded a day like that today! I'm away working from Sunday nights to Fridays eves at the moment, and last week was one hysterical alcohol fueled night after another, interspersed with long supposedly intelligent business days. Thursday night was such a good free bar, that I went to bed at 4.30am ahead of a 7.45 am breakfast meeting. who the fuck schedules that? De Sade had nothing on them

Of course, upon arrival home hung over and dying at 6pm, 3 year old DD is all over me like a rash. Having been away all week, I can't and don't want to push her away, but te theme has continued all weekend!!!

Before arriving home, I was mainly pleased I had neither vommed in the Friday meetings or actually gone up to the room belonging to the person who wrote their room number on my wrist in the bar, by tonight, as I wait for the tumble dryer to finish so I can get in the car and drive 200 miles to the next hotel, i am mainly pleased i committed neither murder nor suicide this weekend.

Oh llanali (my phone tried to change that to 'llama like' - how llama like are you on a scale of 0-10?) that sounds bad. I feel for you.

OP posts:
Bleurghghghgh · 19/03/2017 19:35

Not like that james although after theee glasses he might as well have looked like that

My friend thought Mr Tumnus was a hermaphrodite.

Oh....and you are an utter bastard! Grin

Llanali · 19/03/2017 19:41

Well, if llamas have bags under their eyes, fear of Monday morning and a residual Disney intolerance, then very like a llama.

Have you ever heard the llama song? YouTube it.

Here's a llama there's a llama...

Llanali · 19/03/2017 19:42

And don't feel too bad, but thanks for the sympathy- it was self inflicted. The dinners and nights out are compulsory, nearly having an affair and drinking amaretto and lemon TIL nearly dawn is not.

LorLorr2 · 19/03/2017 19:44

I did this yesterday. I really needed it, I could tell. Loovely! Although unfortunately today I was with my mum when she took a phone call from a friend who asked after me. She proceeded to tell her about how lazy I had been this weekend which I was rather embarrassed about..

soupmaker · 19/03/2017 19:44

Oh how I'd love to have a Sunday like yours OP. I'm so bloody knackered I can't even remember what we did pre-DC. I was in bastard IKEA today, watched oldest DC play football out in the cold and had smallest DC make me play Lego for bloody hours this afternoon when all I wanted to do was lie on the couch.

So, I'll be having one of these Wine

blackteasplease · 19/03/2017 19:46

I wanted to say what reow said.

ChrisYoungFuckingRocks · 19/03/2017 20:03

This barman - yum drools

phoenix1973 · 19/03/2017 20:04

Fab! I would love a day like this. Minus the
Camembert

Bleurghghghgh · 19/03/2017 20:40

Gone for a restorative vino. Will soon be home with Camembert and bed. Can't wait
