AIBU to think it's fine for me to have 2 jobs?

I have a full-time job as a civil servant, but I've just accepted a full-time job in public relations as well. I know I can fulfil both roles perfectly well - luckily the civil service job is flexitime, which means I can do that work in the afternoons, while I do the PR stuff in the mornings.

Please don't think I'm doing this because of the money! I'm not actually short of cash, because as well as this I do a bit of freelancing a few evenings a year, which brings in a decent amount of cash, and I also earn a few quid from a family trust fund.

I'm doing it because I think I have so much to offer the world of PR! But I'm also a great civil servant, so I don't want to disappoint people by handing in my resignation there.

AIBU to think people shouldn't criticise me by suggesting I shouldn't be doing all this?

meatballs Probably take a helicopter ride between Cheshire and London. That crap has started happening. It is awfully tiresome when you can just take the train to Runcorn and have your driver pick you up.

I'm presuming you have extensive PR experience and there isn't anyone better qualified for the role anyway!

I've never worked in PR before, but I know that no one can do this new job better than I can - because I've always wanted to do it! So that proves it, doesn't it?

To be fair you didn't have anything to recommend you as Chancellor of the Exchequer but you made a marvellous job of that... oh, wait, no. You didn't.

You're doing incredibly well demonstrating that a history degree opens myriad doors that oiks with just the one full time job wouldn't expect it to.

Sod the haters and Haters gonna hate - Indeed! So glad you understand

surely the PR thing will only be a couple of hours of a morning anyway - but I'm hoping it'll be the "Civil Service" thing that will only take up a couple of hours in the afternoon, while I get on with the important Big Boy business outlined above ...

Thanks for all your comments!

You do have experience in PR though, Northern Powerhouse should be easy to promote to the public nfrom London.

Yeah if you can get 6 jobs by sheer talent alone why can't everyone. Just make sure you keep up your energy levels. Have a chat with your pharmacist.
