What time is acceptable to use a hairdryer until?

Need to wash my hair. It's very long and naturally curly,, so takes forever to dry naturally.
I live in an end terrace house. Is 8pm too late to use a hairdryer? It would take me no longer than 15 minutes to dry it. (Should I just towel dry my hair as best I can instead?)
(And no I couldn't wash my hair any earlier to avoid the problem).

  • I LIVE in not like. I don't actually like it much at all.

Christ, do people really worry this much? I'll do what I want in my own home. Can't believe the audacity that would be needed for someone to complain about a bloody hairdryer!

JennyHolzersGhost · 16/03/2017 21:20

If your walls are so thin that your neighbours can hear your hairdryer then you've got bigger problems than that, imo Wink

kel1493 · 16/03/2017 22:38

Like I said I doubt they are. But still I do worry about these things

Trivial baiting pursuits on mumsnet.

Can hear our next doors having a conversation they literally are paper thin. I used my hairdryer just to blow dry my fringe at 7.30am this morning and I heard her swearing saying I am fu#&ING awake now. 😳 Honestly some people..

IEat · 13/01/2021 09:19

Never thought about it. I live in a block of flats and believe me no one is quiet!

SlopesOff · 13/01/2021 09:29

I doubt the hairdryer would make much noise, but if you are using a generator chugging away to power it things might be different.

I understand why you asked though, I have always been aware of neighbours and would always tiptoe about when I lived above someone.

How do people bump into 3, nearly 4, year old threads?
I am always curious about thatGrin

It would never have occurred to me to even let honk of this, let alone worry about it. 8pm?!

I wash my hair late at night and dry it while my H is in bed. If it doesn’t bother him I very much doubt your neighbours will be upset by you drying your hair. At 8pm.

Winterwoollies · 13/01/2021 09:41

Oh arseholes. It’s a short zombie. HOW did you find this?!

thepeopleversuswork · 13/01/2021 09:56

I would use a hairdryer more or less around the clock if I needed to tbh.

My upstairs neighbour (who is neurotic as fuck) actually asked me in the past not to use mine after 10.30pm but she was the most controlling person I've ever met and even she wouldn't have asked me not to use it after 8pm!

SlopesOff · 13/01/2021 10:15

OPs hair is probably dry by now...

Stephcee · 14/01/2021 07:16

This was at the top when I looked😂 I didn't even realise the year! 🤣X

Stephcee · 14/01/2021 07:18

Honestly don't even know to be honest😂
And she's a nightmare neighbour that's for sure. Had a massive argument in March and non of us have spoken to eachother since. X
