It kinda depresses me.

I'm a career changer.

Anyone in the same boat?

I'm sitting having lunch with my 2 female colleagues and we all agree- GO FOR IT!

We're all on our way to 40 and all started on the same graduate scheme last year.

We're sitting with our very much younger male colleagues and all agree that it was the best decision ever to go for it. It's tough at times and with kids, challenging to juggle but we wouldn't change it for the world!

(All our male colleagues are now engrossed in the penis beaker thread after we had to explain what mumsnet was!)

I would NOT worry about getting into business IT late it's a thing many people fall into or career change into - most of the people our age fell into IT by accident because few people did IT degrees back in the day and the sector took off. It's a great choice because there are so many jobs, you can progress quickly plus it pays well. Don't give your age another thought.

Same here, I'm 39 turning 40 this year. Got my law degree in 2024 and looking for graduate jobs. I'm hopeful that things will change for the best soon enough.
