It was before he met me so not as dramatic as it sounds - but I have an issue with this - I want a new bed - we are married and have never had a bed that he hasn't shagged someone esle in!!

He has just said that if we don't get what we want for our haouse it means we will be broke and I may have to do with the bed for a little longer!!

Over my dead body will we - even if I have to put it on my credit card we will be getting a new bed..........

I am so disappointed that he doesn't think this is an issue - I am sure if I had wanted to bring my ex marital bed with me he would have had a coronary!!

Yes, I think you're being unreasonable. Never even occurred to me to mind about this sort of thing when I moved in with dh.

Twinkie1 · 05/03/2007 14:18

There was a rug too but I burnt it!! DH is not that exciting to do it on the table or anything and I have had a new kitchen and dining room table and sofa too since we have been together - thing is this is really not like me - I am quite balanced about these things usually - just gets to me for some reason.

Have found a house - will know in a few hours whether we have sold ours for a good price or a crap price though - if it is the crap price I am out with the credit card tonight!! Seen a beautiful bed in ILVA that I want and have also seen one for DD because she must have a new bed too - she has a crappy slide bed and I am sure DS is going to dive from it oned ay and break something!!

I could do with a new fanjo after 2 kids though - that would be a nice idea - am perfectly happy with DH's todger though don't want to change that at all!!

Sobernow - I have now managed to accidentally drop all of the horrible mugs DH chose with his ex (tenants managed to deal with the rest of the crockery ) - it has taken me 12 years, though!

Chocolate1000 · 05/03/2007 18:03

I'd get a new mattress and bedding but I'd have done it before now IMHO. I hate sleeping in hotel beds for similar reasons.

I think you're being ridiculous. When I first moved in with now-DH, he was living in his friend's spare room and had shagged at least a couple of other girlfriends in that bed. When we moved in together, we just took whatever bed was in the rented flat - and we both brought our bedding from our previous relationships/marriages with us. I only bought new when it wore out - in fact we're still using some of it 15 years later. I might feel jealous about other things, but a bed is a bed is a bed... I mean he's probably had his tongue all over her genitals, and vice versa.

You literally burned a rug because they'd fucked on it? How? Where? This is batshit.

dottiedodah · 10/11/2022 16:13

I see your point ,but what about going on holiday? How many people have been shagging on the mattress there I wonder!

Fairislefandango · 10/11/2022 16:21

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest tbh.

FindingMeno · 10/11/2022 16:25

It's not something I'd even have thought about.

Leafblowertime · 10/11/2022 16:25

Don’t really get it, you’ve no issue his cock was in her but take issue with the bed was the geographical location for it? Ok,..don’t get it myself. But ok.

I think OP managed to pay off new bed already.

Kabbalah · 10/11/2022 16:35

Jeeze , didn’t realise the date on this altho wonder if he’s shagged somebody else on the bed they got 15 years ago or do beds even last that long. 🤭

Mummieslncorporated · 10/11/2022 16:35

Zombie

DWMoosmum · 10/11/2022 16:54

I agree. I did the same as soon as I moved in with my now husband. Got rid of the bed and the mattress, paid it off on the CC over a few months.

Thank heavens for that!

i was going to suggest that what you needed was a new husband.

Emotionalsupportviper · 10/11/2022 17:04

Oh bugger- didn't check date.

As you were, people. Nothing to see here.

Move along.

ancientgran · 10/11/2022 17:06

When I got married, 1969, it was all a bit different to now so we never lived together. We got a flat and kitted it out ready for the wedding, some stuff we bought, some was resents like my mum bought us a sofa, and some was secondhand stuff we were given. We bought the bed and it was made up ready for when we moved in. One week after the wedding a colleague of his phoned me and told me we needed to talk. Turned out they'd been having a fling for months and she'd slept in our bed in our flat before I had. I still don't know why I stayed with him for 14 years and had to kids.

I look back at teenage me and I feel so sorry for her.

ancientgran · 10/11/2022 17:07

resents is presents and we had two kids. The arthritis in my hands is getting worse.

Oh no I didn't check either. Feel a fool now as well as arthritic. Well I suppose I was a fool in 1969 so not much changes.
