WIBU to view a house 20k over our budget?

If it is perect for us, needs a little bit of (cosmetic) work, has been on the market since Nov and we are renting with no chain and mortgage in principle and able to work to their timescales??!

Our budget is maximum MAXIMUM of 15k under the asking price. And that would be really pushing. We were hoping to spend max of 205,000 and this is on for 225,000... we could really push ourselves to about 210,000 but would be a real stretch.

Is it totally pointless, I don't want to waste anyone's time and I don't want to fall in love with something I can't have!

I'd view it. We're just keeping an eye on the market, at the moment, but searching up to 210K but realistically only comfortable with up to 190K. Some of those higher priced houses have been sat there a while and have been reduced, recently by anything from 5-15K.

I would say you have a chance. When we last sold in the UK our place was on for 210 and we accepted 195 (first offer we got - no haggling) because we wanted a quick sale.

Absolutely view it! My previous house we paid £135k & it was on for £160k (needed work) & this one paid £185k & was on for £199k, (In Norn Iron & market was sliding back from peak - this house was £400k a wee bit before so nearly half its peak price)

Just be honest and upfront then it's up to the vendors... You don't ask, you don't get.

Don't set your heart on it though.
