To say those motorised cars that toddlers can drive are a bit pointless?

Or am I just jealous I saw a 2 year old with a better car than me! Grin
Aren't they just the biggest waste of money though or can you think of anything else to compete against this ?

I don't like them but that is mostly due to the kids next door have one and that annoying whirring noise drives me insane but

Dh got one second hand for dd. I hate it.

BettyOBarley · 05/03/2017 19:47

Yep. My friend's DD got one as a birthday present from her auntie.. I don't think it ever left the house and now it's in a cupboard.

In a moment of madness I bought my DD one of those cosy coupe cars after she took a shine to one at soft play. I don't know what I was thinking as we don't have a paved garden or anywhere for her to ride in it and that too has only ever been used to go back and forth on our landing. I'm waiting for an opportunity when she's not around to eBay it...

It's not that they're pointless - it's that imo they are dangerous. How long till you take your eyes off the kid and s/he drives off a patio, or into a garden pond, etc.?

Mrsglitterfairy · 05/03/2017 20:27

Yeah they're shite. We bought one for DS1 when he was almost 2. Didn't use it and we ended up giving it away. Fast forward 3 years when ds2 turned 2 and we bought him one too. No idea why but it seemed like a good idea. And guess what? He didn't use it and we also gave it away. Total waste of about £300 in total Shock

Just watching a video of ds2 in ours. Sweetest thing.

'obese', 'what's the point'? Hmm

Its called FUN. They are real fun. You all seem to be missing that.

I always get amused in the park just after Christmas when these things are out in full force. You hear them coming a mile off and the kids always leap out of them to go in the play area leaving the parents with the same disgruntled expressions because they now have to lug the bulky thing around.
Then you don't see another one until the next day after Boxing Day.

I find them a bit pointless. Fun for one or two goes as a novelty I guess.
