I've been going to the same salon for about 4 years for highlights and cut. Always been quite happy and their prices are very good. It's a tiny salon.

The woman that used to do my hair left and they got someone new in. My hair has never been quite the same since but I couldn't put my finger on why. It went from very subtle dark blonde to really bleached looking, but she was using the same colours.

Eventually I said I wasn't too happy and she did it a different way, it was fine for a while then, not quite the same but better. I've been in again for regrowth and specified I wanted it darker and subtle but it's just not right. It's lighter and brighter than ever and I'm fairly sure she didn't leave the blonde on long enough and it's very orangey looking.

I'm really gutted, I don't really want her to do my hair again now. My hair was always long and healthy now it's dry and brittle and breaks.

My choices are either to ring up and ask the manager if she'll redo it. The manager has done it before and it was great, but I feel bad as the hairdresser is so lovely, and I hate complaining, but I'm just too scared now to have her again.

Or I just never go back and try somewhere else.

Either way I need to get it fixed this week because it looks awful.

I would ring up and find out where the other person who did your hair went. Then go there. Or, just find somewhere else.

She no longer does hairdressing unfortunately so not an option!

I think that, as a long-term customer of the salon, you are likely to find the manager sympathetic to your problem. You have tried her new staff member on more than one occasion and it just isn't working. You are clearly not a hard-to-please customer as you were satisfied previously. A good manager will want to know if a new stylist is losing customers for the salon. You are entitled to expect corrective colour free of charge & you can then perhaps start seeing the salon manager as your regular hairdresser.

It really doesn't matter how lovely the stylist is, she isn't doing a good job with your hair. I'd definitely call the manager and let her know you're not happy. Tell her you've tried a couple of times with the current stylist and it's just not working for you and that you're really disappointed with the most recent results so you'd like the manager herself to redo it now and in future.
