To pull my own teeth out with pliers

BecUse if it relieves the pain from a fucking abscess it will be worth it. Started antibiotics yesterday and feel like I have been hit by a truck. The constant pain is wearing me down but painkillers barely touch it. I am a miserable grumpy old cow and I hate it

My tooth abcess was probably the most painful thing ever. Oil of cloves helped but burned my lip eventually. Sympathy.

As other posters say.. get a good system going with painkillers. . Don't wait till you need them..

If you have a bad night don't go in. Try & rest.

I only went in to work as a distraction because I was pacing at home.

Oh it's so horrible. Metronidazole is strong stuff, wiped me out, but hopefully it will kick in fast. It's worth getting some probiotics for when you finish the course, because it kills off all the bacteria in your gut too.

Contrary to PP's comments, I found the eventual extraction fine, but they have to get rid of the infection first otherwise the anaesthetic doesn't work (infection is acidic, I believe, and neutralises the anaesthetic.)

My Dh told me this, I was v sceptical but it actually works (not completely obviously but takes a lot of the pain)
Crush up a paracetomal and run the powder into the gum around the affected area

I'm not sure how it works but it does!
