To think hospital has a reason to call me back after X-ray?

Started a thread on Thursday about falling of a horse. Had pelvis and hip X-ray was told they were all clear and sent home with co codamol.
It's been a very painful weekend - mainly as the cocodamol made me sick so have just been using paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Just had a call from the hospital asking me to go in tomorrow to 'discuss the xrays'. This is not a friendly follow up is it? Have they spotted something since? Or, NHS people, are there other reasons for a call back?

Quite possibly. I was sent to A+E as 'a matter of urgency' after a leg MRI, turns out there was a fracture. It might be something simple. Try not to worry!

It is possible a radiologist or specialist has reviewed your Xrays and there is an issue after all

Yes, the consultant often reviews x-rays taken over the last few days and may have seen something that's been missed. Better to know and get it dealt with. Take it easy! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Yes, something has been found. But not something to need you to go on urgently today. Could be a pubic Ramus fracture, they are easily missed and of I remember right from my casualty days just treated with rest.

Hmmm. Thank you. Not really what I wanted to hear! I'd got to the point of being able to stand unaided once I was fully loaded with painkillers so hoped I was on the mend. Can't afford too many days off work 😥 So much for a fun activity, just for me!

It's probably a missed fracture that's treated conservatively (most probably a pubic rami fracture as above). Any fracture that meant you were not allowed to weight bear would (should) be dealt with differently.

It was a broken 2nd and 3rd vertebrae, mrsmc 😱
Just waiting for the results of an MRI scan to see the extent of the peripheral damage and the next course of action.

Yes. The MRI confirmed broken vertebra. Now flat on my back In hospital for at least 2 days while a spine specialist decides what to do with me. I'm allowed to bend my knees occasionally - if I must.
I thought having a toilet audience of toddlers was bad enough now have to be rolled onto a bedpan by four strangers!

Gobsmacked they let you stay at home for another day!

Thank you. It does seem a bit odd that they left me to struggle at home, thinking I needed to keep moving as it was bruising etc. Only to have me flat on my back the next day!
