What lovely things have happened so far in 2017? I got a new job I thought I had no chance for, after not working since last year following major life changes. What great things have happened to you this year?

DD passed her driving test last week and picks up her new car tomorrow. You cannot imagine the sheer joy that I'll never have to pick her up from work at ridiculous o'clock again!

I won £300 Homebase vouchers on this very site, the day after DH told me he planned to redecorate the hall!

New car, small promotion ... 2017 is going well

After 5 months of struggling, saving and planning our 2 dogs are finally coming home to the UK! Dp had to go get them and leave me for 3 weeks with newborn ds and dd 2. They are coming by plane, boat and train as we couldnt afford to fly them straight here so a pretty epic journey!

I have a new job and a new house, both of which came as a complete surprise.

Nothing amazing has happened to us and dp lost his job but we are happy and healthy (ish).

So that's good enough for me.

I can drive again after being unable to for a year due to a one-off seizure last February - it feels like a huge weight has been lifted for our family now DH can work full time again (he had to reduce hours to do school runs and was really struggling to get his job done, as well as being responsible for all the extra-curricular logistics and grocery shopping).

Silver lining after FIL dying - we sold his house and can now afford to fix ours up a bit - finally getting the replacement carpet and wardrobes we've needed for 9 years!

I bought my wedding dress yesterday! It was the first dress I tried on and 70% off- only two left in my size in the US and UK!
I also had successful work review, fiancé got a job, and I'm hopefully picking up our new kitten next week!

My DBoyf and I are in the process of having an engagement ring made.... yay!

We got a new dog. His name is Harry, he's an 8mo chihuahua x chinese crested, and he's TINY!

This evening I shut him in the kitchen, so he could eat his chicken in peace. Ten minutes later DD2 went in, and found him ON THE WORKTOP. We have no idea how he managed it, he can't possibly have jumped up.

Someone gave me some money. A relative. It was given with no strings- just love and kindness. It will really help.

I found a breast lump during the Xmas holidays and worried myself sick about it - was absolutely convinced I had cancer. Just had a mammogram and have been told everything is fine.

DD got into all 3 secondary schools that she took exams for and one of them even offered her an academic scholarship - totally unexpected! For a shy child, it's given her a huge boost which in turn makes me really happy.
