If you own a tiny car?

AIBU to think that you deliberately park your Fiat 500/C1/Smart as far forward in the parking space as you possibly can so that while the rest of us are driving around looking for a space we get all excited thinking we have found a space only to discover your tiny car when we get closer and feel thoroughly disheartened?

Does the above behaviour give you a perverse sense of pleasure? (I imagine it would)

P.s. It shouldn't need saying but .... light hearted Grin

Compared to a pushbike

Try harder next time ;) they obviously aren't performance cars (of which I've owned a few so less of the sarcasm/patronising thanks) but they are much quicker than you expect them to be. Obviously you know it all with your track days and 0-100 though... 🙄

I'd love a tiny car, any recommendations?

Shockers · 11/02/2017 10:24

Rainmaker, no, petrol. It was almost all motorway and I can get up to 66 mpg (according to my little in-car computer thingy) if I drive carefully. I'd filled the tank before I set off and the needle hardly moved!

Wankers, I bought my UP to share with DS (6'2"), when he starts to drive in May.
It's the High UP model and it looks quite cool inside, it also has VW alloys, so it ticks the looks box. The front is surprisingly roomy and there is as much headroom as there is in our Volvo. The back seats are a handy extra, but there's little legroom, so it wouldn't be ideal for four on a longer journey.
The boot is spacious enough for our medium sized dog, with the parcel shelf removed.
And the front seats are heated Grin.

Fake the only 'tiny' Hmm it really isn't car I've owned is the Abarth 500 which I adore & would fully recommend but it's not great on fuel economy, especially if you drive it like I do Grin, I had a 1.2 Fiat 500 on loan when mine went in for a fault repair & tbh it was shite-am told the 1.4 sport is decent though.

Wankers

Hyundai i10's are surprisingly roomy, even the older models. And very economical as a city run about.

I used to do this with my Mini Cooper, only in my gym car park where there was regular parking wars. Such fun. Grin

I miss that car, it was like driving a little go cart around.

twinjocks · 11/02/2017 17:16

madeyemoodysmum I drive a classic Mini too! Grin

Thanks for the feedback and ideas on cars folks. There are a few Citigos floating about in price range too - assume same platform as the UP but in Skoda form - anyone tried one?

Given free choice I'd probably go for a mini in terms of safety and build quality but think they are too ££££ :(

Shockers · 11/02/2017 18:04

My friend's mum has one and loves it, wankers.

WankersHacksandThieves · 11/02/2017 18:33

Thanks shokers . I'd rather have a Yeti but that's not going to work insurance wise with teenage boys :( I've a NIssan Note at the moment but its a 1.4 so still no good.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 11/02/2017 18:47

You can get the 500 in a 0.9 turbo. Insurance is v. cheap and it's supposed to be the best one. Can highly recommend. Mpg is excellent too and I'm not exactly driving miss daisy
