They have to list it as palm oil now Maisie , so at least people can make an informed decision.

Lidl and Aldi are pretty good at avoiding it, you can tell by the smell alone.

I am so gutted about cadburys. They're fucking each and every bit of it, whilst not paying tax. I won't buy it any more. And I'm a fat twat, so that means quite a lot of chocolate Wink

Colleague brought back a load of Whittakers from New Zealand last week. Oh MY GOD. Like cadburys used to be, proper decent tasting chocolate. You can get it online here but it's not cheap, sadly!

NancyDonahue · 11/02/2017 20:38

Something has happened to Double Deckers too. The bottom bit is dry and tasteless.

Elizabeth Shaw Mint Crisps and Liqueurs are pretty much all I buy now.

EatSpamAmandaLamb · 11/02/2017 20:41

It tastes like shite. Cadburys should be ashamed of themselves. How anyone enjoys those huge oily bars of dairy milk with various biscuits or sweets stuffed in them is beyond me.
Hey at least it keeps me slim.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 11/02/2017 20:49

Kraft have destroyed Cadbury's, it's a disgrace.

Even crunchies taste like shit now! I grew up loving cadburys, I'm gutted with what they've done to it.

I was born in Birmingham and had a relative who worked for Cadbury so we got to go to the staff shop for cheap chocolate. Such great memories of amazing chocolate that has now gone completely to shitSad

frogmellla · 11/02/2017 20:54

No wonder It's now sold in pound land. Tastes like eating coco butter body lotion.

HelenaDove · 11/02/2017 20:58

GoesDown Iceland were selling Whitakers Coffee Creams and their Mint Creams in the run up to Christmas. I bought the mint ones for my dad the coffee ones for my mum........a box each.

And 3 boxes of the coffee creams for DH which had all gone by mid Jan.

HelenaDove · 11/02/2017 20:59

GoesDown Iceland were only charging £1 a box for the Whitakers 16 chocs in each box.

GemmaWella81 · 11/02/2017 21:03

The closest you'll get to the original dairy milk recipe is if you buy freddos or the child dairy milk bars.... Basically any Cadburys made in Ireland. The Bourneville factory chocolate is shite now..

Buzzardbird · 11/02/2017 21:09

I think the majority is made in ~Poland now Gemma.

boredwithabrokenfinger · 11/02/2017 22:20

i no longer buy Cadburys. Pile of shite.

user1484750550 · 11/02/2017 22:39

Yep double deckers are wanky now too and crunchies don't taste great either. Also, I must throw in Cadbury's Caramel; it tasted like crap when I got one a few months ago.

I seriously thought it was just me, and that something was wrong with my tastebuds. It's such a revelation reading this thread, knowing that many others feel the same about Cadbury's chocolate. I have to say I do still enjoy the dairy milk, but that's it; I don't enjoy anything else, (well with the exception of creme eggs.) Oh, and also flakes and twirl bars tasted ok the last time I had them but that was about half a year ago; they might taste shit now! Milk Tray has tasted crap for several years now.

And I know this has already been mentioned, but it's not just Cadbury's.....What the hell has happened to Rolos? They're vile. They taste stale and almost like mouldy. Also kitkats are not nice now either, twixs are average, and aeros taste bland too.

Galaxy chocolate was nice the last time I had it, although that was about a year ago.

GoesDownLikeACupOfColdSick · 11/02/2017 22:41

Oooh I shall check out the Iceland website, thanks!!

I have read that twirls are still made in Ireland to the original recipe, can anyone confirm?

GladAllOver · 11/02/2017 22:59

You can't beat Aldi's Moser Roth chocolates. No palm oil in that.

Kadena127 · 12/02/2017 08:25

This is the bonus of having a DP from Belgium, everytime he goes back to visit family he brngs me back lots of yummy belgian chocolate Grin
