DP got an Ancestry DNA test for Christmas. He's very into his family history so it makes sense. He has the option of downloading his full profile (is that what it's called? I'm not sure) and then uploading to another site and getting a health profile - just a list of risks and and genetic predispositions to various diseases and cancers.
It makes perfect sense to me to do it, I would. The thinking being that if it turned out I had higher risks for something I could perhaps change my lifestyle and be more vigilant about my health in that particular area. Mitigate the risk somewhat I suppose.
DP said absolutely not. He doesn't want to know and would feel like he was living with a ticking time bomb if something was flagged.
Has anyone ever done a DNA health screen and how did it make you feel afterwards? AIBU to try and persuade him to get it done? I'd like him to be around as long as possible!
