The new male contraceptive - seriously!?!?

Are they trying to set it up for failure?

FFS. They had one job - invent a male concraceptive that men will take and it will work.

Failed at the 2nd hurdle.

For those that don't know, the method of erm... use is an injection in the balls. A needle will have to pearse the sack. How can this not go well I wonder?

"Hello darling, please let me stick this needle in your twin plums there"
"Hold still like a good man"
"Oh do stop screaming"
"At least pull your trousers up before you bolt off down the road"

I guess we are on the pill / condom / cap / pretending to have our periods for another decade at least.

I wouldn't want an injection into my testicles. I don't think that's wrong, what would be wrong is expecting my partner to experience as bad/worse to spare me the process.

borrowed- So because women go through pain, not by the choice of men, we have to ridicule them when they don't want a needle in their balls? Are they not allowed to feel pain and refuse to have it?

I am in agreement- this is not a "tit for tat", so women have to give birth then men should take some suffering.

All a bit playground.

^ this is what I'm getting at. This contraceptive is no worse than the many things women go through so if my dh refused to get it because he didn't want a jag I would refer to the things I have been through. He wouldn't be that selfish though.

It's a shame there are no simpler options for men other than condoms and non penetrative sex. If this becomes available then those who want to use it will have more choice. I hope the search for other choices for both sexes continues. I don't see why the angst really. Ideally, a woman is responsible for her contraception and a man is responsible for his. It would be good for them both to have lots of choices.

I don't think that there could be anything simpler than condoms or nps ;)
They allow men to take responsibility really easily without meds or pain.

Simpler than the new injection.
