We had a child free weekend, in my head I thought takeaway Friday, lazy Saturday tea time drink in the new gin bar then tea in a local pub, my hubby didn't fancy doin anything on Saturday so we just stayed in like we do when the kids are here - he said beans on toast would be fine this is his answer to every tea time dilemma (drives me mad it's a cop out). I am 40 and don't wanna sit eating beans on toast I want adventure and fun aibu

I think there is a problem if the idea of fun and excitement is "tea in a local pub". I'd be thinking I'd rather watch casualty and have beans on toast too. Maybe next time plan something that was a bit more enticing- it doesn't have to be swimming with dolphins in Eilat but just a theatre trip and nice hotel in London would do.
If he really doesn't want fun and excitement then you may have to join sirocco dancing classes alone. Book to do 'London to Brighton' or similar together.

I'd have split it, one day with friends & one day with DP. Best of both worlds

Bollocks to that. Take £40, your best heels and go and have your evening in the pub. Tell him if he wants to push the boat out he can have cheese on his beans on toast.

Child fee to me would mean doing jack shit, without interruption.

Free. Sigh

is he tired from work hate this. It's like an assumption that the poor poor man must be out flogging himself to death while the OP presumably is not and wants to be entertained. We have no idea what the set up is and frankly even if you are tired from work, getting out is sometimes not a bad plan - helps you feel like you have a life

Trills · 06/02/2017 08:34

Oh you don't feel like going out? I might ring Jane and see if she fancies it

Try this.

Or if you really don't want to do things separately, how about you each get to plan one evening of the weekend?
