Normally a news junky but I can't keep up

And it's depressing

I just want Jed Bartlet to be President, not the mendacious eejit that has taken his seat

Make it all go away.....

I had rewatched a couple of seasons last autumn when home with a chest infection - I get no time with the dvd player normally as the xbox also uses that tv.....grrrr....

But I have recently discovered a podcast, called "The West Wing Weekly", where Josh Wilmelina (the actor who played the election agent for the guy who dies in California somewhere during the election and then joined with White house staff later) and Hrishikesher Waiy (sp?) (a good friend) discuss each episode of TWW in chronological order. It's quite interesting as there are some background stories, interviews with actors and technical staff from the series, and some general japes (they have introduced their own "Big Block of Cheese Day" for example). As well as considering the stories and how they either influenced real politics or have moved on since they were aired (17 years ago!!). That might also be worth listening to.

I am currently doing exactly this! I've watched West Wing from start to finish, twice. Current times called for a third viewing. Half-way through series 1, again.

If you don't have the box sets of TWW, Sky Atlantic are showing it I think on Saturday mornings.

MargotsDevil · 02/02/2017 13:24

It's also available on demand from Now TV Smile

Love the WW; season 1 finale was truly gripping TV. Awesome ensemble cast and brilliant writing. In times like these it is indeed chicken soup for the soul.

We're also re-watching Firefly. And my fave Facebook meme is Capn Mal Reynolds saying "we were on the losing side. I can't say it was the wrong side"

I'm in numb state about Trump which allows me to watch the daily destruction of the Office of the President with an eery calm. I am actually rather enjoying the fact that he is pissing of world leaders one by one, China then Mexico, the whole EU, now Australia. He's doing a great job of lessening the international influence of the USA and isolating the country. Four years from now I think the world will frankly care a lot less what the USA thinks or does about anything.
