With the Trump & Brexit stuff, although long before now, I was wondering where you turned to either/or newspaper/TC station? Or do you hold the stance none can be trusted?

Disastronaut the Guardian I think has changed, or I've become more critical, less invested in it being right. There was a real fake news article recently headlined that Corbyn would whip the MPs to vote for Brexit. As it happened the headline was correct, but they obviously couldn't quote the sources and the body of the article merely stated that whipping was an option. It made me uneasy.

Cockacidal that was a good review of the G's columnists!

For Brexit today it was worth checking out parliamenttv to hear individual contributions to the debate.

The journalists seem a bit perplexed atm and who can blame them. But I find most of the comment output useless.

I check Reuters for pared down reports of international news.

And yes I look at Twitter.

Brexit debate was also on Freeview parliament channel through the day.

Only connect : it was pointed out to me as a child that if you ever knew anything about a subject / event, you would see that press story was wrong, in part at least.

This has been proved to be true through my life.My friend even had a local journo making up a quote when in the paper for a non- controversial kids' event! I take anything beyond checkable facts with a pinch of salt.

HelenaGWells that's a quote from a guy who works at the palace. The Brexit issue, from what I gather it's the baby boomers who thought it'd be a laugh to ruin our lives. How do you decipher motive when reading media? Some news outlets / papers it's pretty obvious.

Aren't our DC's being taught critical thinking as part of Primary Ed now. They need to be able to read text and analyse it, which is pretty much what all exams are. They call it comprehension.

Not the BBC. I used to. But not anymore. Now I look to Twitter. At least you get a range of info and you just have to decide for yourself.
