Ok so.... new year, fresh start, 2017.

Fortunately or unfortunately (confused still), I went through a terrible breakup last year in October, thought he was the love of my life, been together almost 5 years. Long story short I found myself single again when I thought my life was sorted in every single away, and changed my job because I was terribly bullied and micro-managed. Oh yay, hurrrah!

Soooo.... I changed a bit of my attitude.
-I don't stress as much as I used to. That means a lot to me, because my stress levels are always high, and when I don't have something to stress about I'll stress because of that.
-I took a lot more care of myself. Chopped about 10 inches of my hair, then got another haircut in 3 months (ohhh Jeez, so responsible), I got shellac every 3 weeks, and regular pedicures
-I read 4 books already this year. My target is
100.
-I bought myself some new books, quality clothes and... a puppy. Jeeeez that's freaking hardwork.
-booked a solo holiday to Italy.

So what have you done/planning to do to improve your life/attitude/behaviour/aspect in 2017?

What a great positive thread. Well done on all your achievements and it's lovely to celebrate them. I've started the year with an aim to say yes to more things and avoid making excuses not to do things (winter, long evenings, comfy sofa and warm fire making it too easy to hibernate). So instead have had fun catching up with friends and going to gigs with DH. The moments of joy and connection we have with people we really enjoy being with feels good for the soul.

Flowers to Alice who clearly isn't having a great start to 2017. Empathies on that one as I've achieved nothing either

Cake to OP and everyone else who is smashing 2017

Well done everyone! I'm also trying to finally shift some weight, I've managed to loose 7lb in 3 weeks and haven't had one takeaway which is a massive achievement for me! Blush

what's happening with you alice are there problems ? we might be able to help with, it was a strange response and people have jumped on that, but we don't know what is happening in your life to make you say such a thing

I've lost a stone since 2nd Jan!!!
And work is a big messy mass of restructure and "consultation" - last week I was a seething angry mess - but after a lovely weekend with old friends I have got my head round it and am approaching the change constructively rather than destructively and very proud of myself!!!
Well done op - you are awesome x

A massive well done to everyone!!Flowers

Alice, so sorry my post makes you feel ill. Have some Flowers, heard they help with rudeness.

I felt so enthusiastic reading everyone's little or bigger achievements, feels so good to do the tiniest thing for yourself, isn't it?

I'm running the London marathon this year, in memory of my uncle who died just before Christmas. I'm running it for Keech Hospice.
I'm near the end of the last module of my OU degree with honours, which I started in 2009.
I'm giving blood for the first time next month.
