...to put my DD to bed in two hours time & let her eat whatever she likes & watch telly until then?

Hello Mumnet
Single parent here & I'm coming down with something nasty....
No family locally - lovely friends & neighbours but everyone's busy.
Me & DD (4) snuggled up watching Netflix. Letting her eat lots of biscuits.
Think we can do another two hours.
AIBU to trick her into thinking 530 is really 630? That's her normal bedtime.
Feeling weak, rubbish & guilty!

My daughter slept for 13 hours!
I had a crap night's sleep but just relieved to get through what felt like the longest day ever.
Has made me think that I Defo need to speak to all my friends & neighbours & ask them if they're willing to have my DD in future if I am ill... Feel bad asking on a Sunday afternoon!
Big high 5's to all the single parents out there. The biggest obstacle can be illness. It sucks!

I have done this many times. I used to love it when the clocks went back as I could bring bedtime forward a bit.
Nothing worse than being ill when your a single parent. I have struggled in the past.
If a friend asked me to help out on a Sunday as they were ill I would definitely help. No need to feel guilty at all.
Hope you feel better soon,
