that this is a piss poor attempt at a salad

Decided we deserved a treat and ordered a takeaway tonight. It arrives and I start to dish, we ordered tandoori chicken as one of the mains which comes with a salad hahahahaha (the quality of the salad reflects the meal as it was yuck ) have you been really disappointed with a takeaway recently?

Yep. Salad with a takeaway curry is always like that. It's there as a gesture - I don't know anyone who eats it. We have a lovely curry place by us that gives you a similar salad but in a knotted plastic bag that is all sweaty and condensation filled by the time it arrives. Luckily the curry is fab though and they always throw in some free popadums and chutneys.
I used to give sad takeaway salads to my rabbit when I had one but it's sadly no more (not due to the salad - I don't think!)

Yup, pretty standard, I love that they always put a slice of lemon on it.

I had a horrible takeaway pizza tonight. It's a pizza delivery chain starting with P and it was pretty yuck - strangely sweet and doughy. Never again.

The lemon is to squeeze on your salad and tandoori chicken!

Just saw the comment about the Jamie's Italian salad. Went at the weekend with my son and the kids salad (to go with nuggets or whatever) was - and I'm not exaggerating -1 little gem lettuce leaf, half a grape, half a cherry tomato and 1 shave of carrot! I kept looking at it and getting the giggles!

Indian takeaway salad is always iceberg lettuce, one slice of cucumber, 1 wedge of tomato, and 1 wedge of lemon. I eat it, it's fine!

At least they've put on a tray. Round here it would be in a poly bag, gently poaching on top of the hot dishes.

I eat the salad if it hasn't gone sweaty in fairness. Curry, rice and a bit of salad. Gives a bit of texture.

I agree with a PP, the chain beginning with P don't taste nice anymore. But they used to.

And the one beginning with D give me a runny bum and taste cardboardy. I wish Pizza Express delivered.
