Feeding & tears

I've posted this on infant feeding but had no responses so I know IBU posting here because its a busy topic but I could do with advice.

My first child is 14 weeks old. He's always been a good feeder. The past 7 days or so has been a challenge.

Every time he tries to latch onto the bottle he sobs his heart out, goes red in the face & gets really worked up. He latches on but then spits it out & reacts like this.
After about 5 - 10 mins of trying & comforting he will than latch on & feed as normal. I stop half way to wipe his chin & wind him & he will latch straight back on no problem. He winds well & easily after each feed.

I haven't changed the formula, the way I make them, the bottles, the way I clean them so I have no idea why this has started.

I can't see any visible sores or anything in his mouth. He's otherwise happy, smiley, playful. Sleeping well & otherwise healthy.

This has knocked my confidence with being able to go out & know I can feed him & also is breaking my heart everytime he sobs in such a way when he's clearly hungry & wants the bottle.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a phase? Worth a trip to the doctor? I'm at a complete loss as to why he's reacting like this or how to help fix whatever the issue may be.

Just to add in case it helps - he takes a dummy no problem even mid one of these crying outbursts & he has started teething albeit early - I've tried putting Dentinox on his gums 5 mins before a feed but it hasn't made any difference.
