Shoot him. Slowly. With a rusty bullet.

But some of us don't find it as much of a slog as some people. People say that being a SAHM is harder than going out to work - yeah right!

Going to work is much harder than being at home with your kids, you're not working to deadlines, able to meet friends, can get stuff done so you're not rushing around after getting in from work...

This thread is 15 years old 🤣

I mean were you sobbing to him about how you are barely coping so he basically dismissed all your feelings or was it a general chat? In which case you say "lack of money and no time off on top of the torture of sleep deprivation. Feel free to offer to have the baby anytime"

DeathWinsAGolfish · 02/08/2022 08:51

@PeasOff, I know! Confused

IneffableGenderFairy · 02/08/2022 08:54

See, this is so interesting.

2007: support for the mother with the small baby whose friend has been thoughtless.

2022 (after the rise of the MN MRAs), "well, working is harder than parenting, which isn't really work anyway".

I know which version of MN I liked better.

Anyway, as you were.

ZOMBIE THREAD.

Depends on your kids and job .

Parenting a medically complex child Vs a low pressure 9-5 office job. Sahp is harder.
Parenting a school age child with new born twins during the pandemic Vs a low pressure 9-5 office job. Sahp is harder.

Some people would find the potential loneliness, monotony etc of SAHP harder than the energy, pressure and interaction of a job. Some people won't.

Your job may well be harder than being home with your kids. But that's really all you can judge on

A childless friend of mine once said something similar, only it was about how you can get small children to behave perfectly all the time - she knew exactly what you should do.

I will admit to feelings of thoroughly enjoyable Schadenfreude when her first was an utter little sod as a toddler. 😂
