To not expect neighbours to fill up my rubbish bin?

Bins got collected Thursday. Just went to take a bag out and somebody has filled up my bin to the brim with rubbish! I don't have a car and I have nowhere to put my stinking rubbish for 2 weeks. Can't leave outside as foxes will rip open. Have major anxiety about health visitor coming next week. Wtf am I supposed to do with my rubbish? Argh I'm so angry!!

contact the council and let them know - bastard neighbours - if it was me I'd be going through it looking for info so I could dump it back on their doorstep

You could try asking the council for help but I suspect they may well say that they can't help if you did leave your bin out in the open. This is what my council would say (and as annoying as it would be, I don't blame them).

I'm with you all the way, but the general consensus on here is that bins are for sharing, apparently.

Look through it, and see if you can work out which house it belongs to. Then ditch it on their doorstep

I had this but luckily our bins are kept round the back so I knew it was one of four Mainsonettes.

Would you be breve enough to open a bag and see if there's anything with the address on? Then you can put it on their doorstep.

Where is the bin? Do you have shared access with your neighbours? Like others, I'd be trying to find out whose the extra rubbish is and putting it in their bin. Does your bin have your house or flat number on - maybe someone thought it was their bin (trying to play devil's advocate!)

Gah, that would really annoy me, we need every spare inch of room in our bin as they're only collected every 3 weeks. If you can find out who did it then definitely have a word. If you get desperate there are often private bin companies that will come and empty your bin. I think the ones near us charge £10. Obviously you shouldn't have to do this but if you are desperate...

There's not a lot you can do this time unless you feel like rummaging through the rubbish to see if you can find anything to identify the culprit. Fly-tipping is a crime though so it is worth contacting the police - they won't do anything, but at least it will have been reported.

If possible, set up a CCTV camera looking at your bin. This will at least mean that you have a chance of catching them in the act if they try it again - and you'll know on whose doorstep to return it to.

Failing that, and I don't condone this, many people would adopt a "when in Rome" attitude and use the cover of darkness to pass the problem on to someone else.

Too skint for cctv. But could stretch to a tenner for private bin emptying. Do you know what I would google to find a company that did this?

Bin locks are probably your friend here. I have no idea how they work, just that they exist.

We have a neighbour who fills up all the other bins on our row late at night. Except usually they are already full and aren't always emptied by the bin men if over flowing. DH usually leaves the house very early before the bin men come and rehouses their rubbish to their front door step. They also leave out random crap like rugs expecting it to be recycled. People are weird.

Don't know about OP but where I live all bins are kept out in the open (each house has a small alley with alcove where bins are stored) and it would be impossible to move it into the garden without dragging it over the carpeted floor.

Like i say a bin lock will resolve your issues going forward.
