For drinking wine out of a plastic tumbler. There is nothing wrong with drinking wine out of a cup. That was what I assumed.
Who is the unreasonable one? Am I the only the one does not care about the utensils that holds my drink? Wine

I thought that too, conclude. I bet it was reserved with a few more bubbles....

missmoohoo · 20/01/2017 21:35

Glad am not the only one who has done this. It might have been a bit over the top earlier to say it was breaking the rule. I shall set my rule braking bars higher next time.

Noooo! I have special wine glasses and take great pleasure in using a crystal one to sup from...it might not make the wine taste any different but it's beautiful and I feel splendid Smile

Dh just called me a slob
elfycat · 20/01/2017 21:38

I thought that too Salem

Sybis · 20/01/2017 21:38

I drank orange juice out of a small French press earlier, so no judgment from me!

gamerchick · 20/01/2017 21:39

More than once, I've sent a g&t back in the pub, as I haven't liked the glass it was served in

There is a word reserved and uttered when someone does this type of thing and they deserve every letter.

I don't give a toss me, I use a straw for all drinks anyway so couldn't care what it's sitting in.

pithivier · 20/01/2017 21:40

In desperation I have drunk wine from a tea cup.

Bushymuffmum · 20/01/2017 21:42

I went to the local pub in my home town with old friends recently and was served my wine in a tall glass. I gave the bartender a Confused face and said "I'd like a proper wine glass please" He seemed a bit taken aback and my mates were looking at me like I was being a bit knobby!
I think I realised there and then I've clearly outgrown my old stomping ground!

FurryLittleTwerp · 20/01/2017 21:43

I once drank wine directly out of a wine box.

I was lying on the floor with my mouth open & my friend was serving the wine.

chipsandpeas · 20/01/2017 21:44

i usually drink wine out of anything except a wine glass, for a while i used my refillable drink cup from universal and drank it from the straw
god ive even drank it from a mug once when stuck in a hotel

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 20/01/2017 21:46

Me too, Happy

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 20/01/2017 21:46

I would drink wine out of a plant pot if it was one without holes in it Grin

isaulte · 20/01/2017 21:47

I have been known to spend the evening in a snit because of the kind of glass my wine was served in (mainly boiling down to size tbh); but if there was really nothing else then plastic would do. Or straight out of the bottle in truly desperate times.

gobbynorthernbird · 20/01/2017 21:50

I'm currently drinking wine out of a Nutella jar.

MusicToMyEars800 · 20/01/2017 21:53

Ohdearducks me too Grin though it wasn't a builders mug but a large round Minnie mouse mug lol, I am not fussy I always end up breaking my wine glasses.. even though I am careful with them.

AdoraBell · 20/01/2017 21:53

Kinda depends. If I had a clean glass I'd use that rather than plastic, but that's because I can smell the plastic. Shape of glass wouldn't matter.

DH is BU tho, he should have got the Asda glass for you

mum2Bomg · 20/01/2017 21:54

Although I have drunk Dr Pepper and vodka out of a Travel Lodge teacup Hmm

PovertyPain · 20/01/2017 21:56

Plastic tumblers, cups, wine boxes. I'm that tense at the thought I can barely turn my head. 😦

Not to mention, I swore I wasn't going to have a drink. Now I'm going to have a glass of Pinot Noir out of one of my beautiful fine cut lead crystal glasses. I may munch on some Tayto ready salted crisps at the same time 🤗

mrsm43s · 20/01/2017 21:58

Under normal circumstances -
Red wine out of a red wine glass,
White wine out of a white wine glass,
Champagne/Cava/Prosecco out of a champagne flute
etc.

I'm quite keen on thin glass/long stems too, rather than the standard pub style (sadly this leads to quite a few breakages!)

However, if the correct glass was not available I'd rather drink it out of anything than not drink it at all. Glass/ceramic rather than plastic if at all possible, though!

clumsyduck · 20/01/2017 21:59

Slob. Rude
Id drink it out of an old sock if that was the only way 😂

GloriousGusset · 20/01/2017 22:05

I prefer champagne from a saucer rather than a flute. Feels more 1950s glam. Even if I'm a 2017 slob.

JorahsMissus · 20/01/2017 22:13

I've drank wine from a pint glass when I've been too lazy to keep getting up for refills. With ice. With a straw.

MiniCooperLover · 20/01/2017 22:14

At least go glass, rather than plastic !!!

Dh just called me a slob
MrsBlennerhassett · 20/01/2017 22:16

i drink wine from a mug. And we have a set of crystal glasses. But weve also got a toddler so a mug is less of a disaster if it gets knocked over.

Ruprecthepanbasher · 20/01/2017 22:18

I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to glasses for alcohol - flutes or saucers for fizz, cocktail glasses for erm, cocktails! thin glasses for wine, a nice pint glass for a cider and a tumbler for a soft drink.

We go camping a lot and I have to take a glass (not plastic) wine glass and fizz flute for our drinks round the tent!
