WIBU to do a lucky dip instead of party bags?

Planning DD1's 5th birthday party for the start of March. I have a love/hate relationship with party bags and thought it would be a nice idea to send everyone home with a piece of cake and doing a lucky dip on the way out with wrapped up party bag style toys so everyone gets one surprise thing instead of a bag of tat. Plus it'll be her class plus cousins and family friends so about 40 children....AIBU or is this a good idea?

A lucky dip is a big box filled with prizes and shredded paper type stuff, each child reaches in and pulls out a prize. The shredded paper or wrapping the items is to stop them trying to choose their prize, the whole point is that it's secret and a game of chance

We always did this - in fact the shredding was as much of a highlight as the gifts both before the party (for my kids) when the shredding took place and then for the kids taking part in the lucky dip! Much better than party bags!

Cool, worried people would think I was a cheap skate! Maybe things like Poundland toys and books, bubbles, little notebooks, etc.
