I've literally not worked in over a decade. TBH. I have almost zero work experience.
I've mostly enjoyed being a SAHM. However, now my youngest is at school I'm kind of twiddling my thumbs, counting the hours and getting quite depressed.
I'd love to work. But have a bad track record and am scared of egging it up.

A friend and I would like to set up an activity party/ holiday sports camp.
Have you set a holiday camp/ birthday party business and what are your tips and experiences.

Thanks!!!!

Good point, OneWithTheForce - OP, don't put any money into this business!

Oh just go for it. Sometimes you can overthink things and it makes you lose momentum. The initial capital outlay will be tiny as you're not renting premises and so I doubt you'll be risking large sums of money if it goes wrong. I suggest running a party for a friend (probably as a favour) to see how it goes and as a learning experience. If you enjoy it, the kids enjoy it and you believe there's a market then do it!

Would imagine its very very hard work for not much return.
Our PE teacher runs holiday clubs in half term etc and does parties in school hall at weekends.
Very hard work. Can't be much money in it, surely?

The initial capital outlay doesn't matter if you aren't required to earn a steady income and have reasonable savings to help you set up. If you have bills and a mortgage then the small outlays for running parties does matter.
It sounds a good idea but you need to be sensible and practical.

I'm going to have a good think.
Thanks all.

Depends entirely where you are. Where I am it wouldn't work as a business - we run with volunteers and our playscheme costs parents £10 a week for 2 1/2 hours a day. Where my cousin lives the place she works at charges £40 a DAY and they make good money. Local demand is everything.
