To cancel these parties?

Daughter has been invited to 2 parties next weekend. Have accepted one thinking it was for one child. Other one just arrived yesterday.

Problem is one party is for 4 kids and the other is for 3. Just normal bouncy castle parties/softplay. So that's 7 presents. I normally spend 5-10 on each so that could be 70 quid. I'm skint. Also LO and I needs a break I feel. (last weekend had in laws here all weekend which was very stressful for lots of reasons)

Am I a total grinch not accepting? We've already had about 4 parties this month.

The invite actually has all the names on- but as was given by a mum who I know I assumed it was just for her daughter.

Not making a massive fuss just a bit exasperated and skint with the amount of parties this bleak January!

I think it's a bit naughty of the 4 parents to not have written some kind of get out clause on the invites for presents. E.g. 'Please don't feel the need to buy 4 presents, just buy one and we'll sort it out' or similar. Because they must know all the invitees would be in a quandary about this.
It's fine to have joint parties to save money, but not to expect normal sized presents for each child.

I agree, that's ridiculous of them! The joint party I had I made clear that it was my ds, and my friend made sure it was from her dd.

Amazon have loads of 2017 annuals cheap at the moment, some as little as a £1. That along with some maöteders would be a fab present
