Any Airline staff about? Can I do this? Miss flight 1 of 2?

I'm flying Thursday when the strikes are on. Heard nothing yet about my flight which gets me to LHR for my international flight.

Even if my British Airways fight isn't cancelled I think it's going to be very bust with delays and I only have 3 hours inbetween landing and my longhaul flight.

Can I just get the train down there the day before. Miss the domestic flight and get on the international flight.

It was all purchased as one journey.

If I don't check in for my domestic flight will they give away my seat on the long haul?

I'm so stressed.

Is it worth ringing the second airline if its a different one and asking for advice, they may hold the ticket for you if they know you are going to show? they may also have insider information about the strike that could help, but keep trying the phone line too, you will eventually get through, also e mail is worth a try.

My DH missed a flight once and was booked on one next day with the same company instead ( was charged)
When he went to check in to come home a few days later his booking had been cancelled. The airline was very very unhelpful and he ended up having to stay overnight and pay full price for yet another flight home next day. Luckily it was a business trip so we didn't end up out of pocket - I had in fact warned him it could happen but he refused to believe me as it was just too bloody ludicrous.

I think I just have to wait and see if it's cancelled. When I spoke to someone at BA yesterday she just kept saying they couldn't do anything till they had more information. And to keep checking the BA website.

It's not changed still. They said we would get more info today. It's 4pm it's bloody ludicrous.

Are you on Twitter? If so send then a tweet or message on there. I find it's the best way to get companies to respond.

I tweeted them earlier today. Lots of people have been and they are just replying to watch the website for more information.

I managed to get through to someone and he said my flight is scheduled as normal. So fingers crossed it stays that way.

Even if there's a bit of a delay I have 3 hours 20 mins so I think I will be ok.

You'll be fine with over three hours. I don't think there will be many problems.
