A&E worthy?

DH had a head injury on Saturday, well actually he had 3 hard collisions whilst playing rugby. He thinks he stayed conscious and can remember the events. He continued to play but felt sick after the game. He told me last night that he feels as though he's been in a fog ever since. He keeps getting muddled up, and also his vision has gone slightly. He described it as similar to when you see heat rising on hot tarmac. Tried to get a doctors appt for him but there were none available today. He hasn't been able to go to work as he said he doesn't feel safe to drive. He also had a dull headache since Saturday which has got increasingly worse. Is this A&E worthy or should he wait to see if the doctors have availability tomorrow? We have to ring every morning in the hopes of getting an appointment with our doctors as the only book able appt is 2 weeks away.

Thanks everyone!
I took him straight there after the first reply! A&E have discharged him now and I've had to tell work I can't come in tonight as the doc said he shouldn't be left alone.
They umm'd and ahh'd for a while about doing a scan & he went to get a second opinion, but came back and said they'd rather not subject him to unnecessary radiation. They said to come back if the headache doesnt subside or gets worse.
Thanks for all the swift replies though! I always worry about going A&E in case of wasting valuable resources!

Hope you are now safely at A & E with a diagnosis of concussion! Please both of you read the 'Headcase' information on the RFU website - he should not have been allowed to play on after the second knock! I coach age groups under 18 for rugby and the Powers That Be are really focussing on head injuries and treatment of this season.

Your husband mustn't train for a set number of days then have a gradual return to play over the course of a set number of weeks! Oh and if he gets another bout of concussion cant play for the rest of the season!

Good luck!
